Freedom comes at a cost, it has a price not just for the free person, but also for the society. If we were truly free, we would be lawless and that is a fact. At the same time freedom is an ideology, it is not tangible, the kind of freedom we have and want is different from what freedom truly is. This is why there are women who feel they are inferior to men and want to be free from that thus they wage war against men in their heart, and this is why some men feel they are superior to women and wish every woman would gravel at their feet. Freedom is an ideology and until we are free from whatever ideology we have, we can never be truly free. For example a lady who feels at war with men will think she’s free but in reality, free people do not need to fight because they are already free. It is those in bondage that need to fight for freedom and same goes for men who think they are superior, they will always find themselves in that loop to defend.

The truth is we are not truly free, if we are truly free then everyone would be against anyone. Freedom needs to be controlled as humans can be unpredictable. This is why we have laws that control our freedom. These laws see to it that peace is gotten which is way more better than freedom. In fact, I would say freedom is chaotic. Look at the jungle for example where there is no king and no law. The strong prey on the weak and absolutely nothing can be done. Mind you this also happens in our lawful and democratic society, but here even the strong have to be very careful to hide their deeds very well. They pride themselves in destroying evidence of their acts in order to hide from the law because if the law can prove them undeniably guilty, then not even their power can save them. In our world both the strong and the weak are wary of the law, but in the jungle the strong fear nothing because they know that there is no law checking them.

Life will not always be fair, but this is to show that freedom is what a lot of people say they want, but not really what they need. What we need is peace and harmony, and when that is in place then no one would think of freedom. Even if we were ruled in a monarchy or military system of government, so long the ruler is fair and just, there would be no fight for freedom. People only fight for freedom when those who are supposed to rule over them are being selfish. In a real sense at the end of the day we are not fighting for freedom, we are fighting to give power to another rule of law which looks better than what we have. And when that one decides to do shit, another fight for freedom continues.
