Our beliefs and values are one of the core of our existence as humans, it teaches us how to think, how to act, and how to be the person we have envisioned in our hearts to be. It doesn’t matter what a person believes in, it’s nobody's business how a person chooses to live their lives. I mean it’s your life for crying out loud. But then again, why do you think the same law that advocates for human rights also punishes those that take hard drugs? So long a person is caught with the possession of these substances even though they are not selling it,or harming anyone with it they are arrested for possession of these hard drugs. You can not tell the court that you take these drugs but have not harmed anyone with it, or you take it simply because you believe it is what you need to survive. If these drugs do not come with an official medical prescription, you have violated the law in spite of your beliefs.

This goes to show that even though beliefs can be acknowledged, there are boundaries to it. It is your choice to take or not take the covid vaccine, but it becomes the choice of your doctor if you should contact covid. At that point the only choice you have is to die in isolation because if you must go out, then you are definitely taking the vaccine. I have seen a lot of adults who would not take any vaccines for one reason or the other, I for example have refused taking the covid vaccine, not because I do not believe in vaccination, but because of the controversies surrounding it. I have taken other vaccines because they were more direct and understandable. If I paraventure I discover that I stand a huge risk of contracting the virus, my beliefs and values demand that I do so not just for myself but for others. But then, not everyone thinks like this, there are those who reason more selfishly, like a brother who would refuse to donate his blood to his brother because he feels it is a sin. His beliefs might have just sentenced his brother to death.

This is where I think we need to draw the line. Yes everyone has a right to believe what they wish to believe, but if that belief in any way harms members of the public, then it should be seen as a criminal offense. In my opinion a person’s life should be saved regardless of their beliefs, and if a person is not in the right state of mind to make a decision that could change their lives, and it is known that the person does not share the same believe system with their next of kin, then the hospital should do what is in the best interest for that person and not what the next of kin thinks. This is where kids should be protected from beliefs they do not have the ability or capacity to change. If a parent would rather let their kids die than do what is right because of a belief system, the government should be able to take up the responsibility of taking care of that child because a good parent would pick their child’s life over any belief. At the same time, I think people should be enlightened about how certain things should not be allowed in a belief system so as to help religious and traditional people live better lives.
