CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY

One of the severe and most controversial crimes against humanity are the sex crimes. It becomes more serious when the victims are children. Perpetrators of such crimes are not normal and that is a fact. Why would a full grown adult choose to have sex with a child in the first place if they are mentally okay. The issue of adults raping adults is still a debate and then there are those who go for children. How the heck do this set of people find children attractive if they are not mentally disordered. This is why such people must not just go to prison, but go to a facility that can check if they are mentally stable. These set of people do not deserve to just serve time in prison, they deserve to be placed in a mental facility where they can be duly assessed until they can be cleared to come back to the public.

I do not believe jail makes every criminal change. There are criminals that become worse in jail and after serving time, the society suffers the repercussions of their release because they become more vicious and even more sneaky so they can commit more crimes and not suffer the repercussions of going back to prison. These kinds of criminals will stop at nothing to fulfil their goals, some might have even built a strong network in prison and come out to join the network they have built that is already striving in the society. These are the reasons crime rate increases in the country and even the people that sent the criminals to jail may not be safe as there are chances they will come for them. If normal criminals can not be trusted, why would we trust these set of delusional and mentally unstable people to be safe for the society.

Life is not fair, and the truth is people can change. Prison is made to make people rethink their life decisions in the hope that they will change. But to be honest, the horrors of prison might end up hardening some people instead of making them rethink their decisions. In my opinion, people who commit sex crimes need to be fully accessed, otherwise society will be their prey if they just go to prison and come out. The why should be asked when it comes to actions like this after they have been reprimanded, if the reason why they do what they do can be understood, it will be easy to find ways to make sure they never do it again and for some, such ways would include locking them up for life not just in prison but in places where they will never see anybody to sexually abuse as there are those who would not mind abusing their fellow inmates. For such people, even those in prison are not safe with them around, nobody is safe with them around. Some would even need to be castrated or mutilated to ensure they never get the urge to abuse others again.
