CHOOSING WHO YOU ARE

No one can dictate the life of another person, not even a parent for their children. This does not mean that sometimes the child does not become who the parents imagined, it just means that at the end of the day the parent can only train wishing the child follows their footsteps or find their own paths in life. There are times where children end up following their parents footsteps, but there are also times where children would prefer following their paths. I am among the latter and if I am to be honest, this path is not an easy one because at the end of the day children like that end up encountering experiences that change who they are totally. Some of these experiences are not really pleasant, some have even died while going through such experiences, others have been scared for life, some even become stuck, some give up and go back to following their parents path.

At the end of the day, every child who chooses to follow their own path in life ends up being different. For a lot of us, we end up seeing a world we weren’t raised to see, we end up experiencing things even our parents never experienced, we end up making decisions because of the kind of experiences we have. Some of us end up doing things we are not proud of just to survive, not because we weren’t raised well or because we were put in situations that made us think on our feet. We were at a point were survival mattered more than reality and thus we choose survival. Some get away with it, some go back to how they were trained, some become scard and perverted by those situations changing their morality and how they respond to life in general. At this point it is just life happening to them.

For those who choose to follow their parents or guidance path, it may not be rosy, but it becomes easier. This is because they have people who have walked the path they are walking on, and can easily get support better than those who are walking a different path. This is why our views of morality are different. Of course because a thing is not illegal does not make it right but then we forget that because a thing is deemed illegal does not make it wrong. Our experiences and other people's experiences form our belief system, and if we must really survive in this world, we need to stand strong on what we believe in, be it right or wrong. A lot of people might not agree with this. I have in the past had disagreements with my family over topics like this because to them it is simple, what is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong, but I know with the experiences I have had that it is not entirely true. Sometimes the majority and even the country may be wrong, and sometimes they may be right. The definition of right and wrong was written by humans for humans and humans can change it.
