BEING HUMAN

One thing a lot of people forget is just how much humans can adapt to any situation. It’s one of the very frightening attributes of humans. Humans can be very unpredictable and this is because a lot of humans grow up on pure survival instincts or in competitive environments. This makes us tough, it makes us see the world from an entirely new perspective. And guess what, more than 90% of the world population grew up under such circumstances. This is not a matter of rich or poor, it’s a matter of how broken the world system is. In a bid to raise smart and tough children, parents do a lot to bring out the best from their children and such action if not carefully examined can create certain character traits a lot of people never knew they had until the time for it comes. Imagine a rich man giving his child everything he needs to live comfortably and making the child used to spending money but never used to making it. What do you think will happen if the man dies and the child has finished spending all the money? There is a big probability that the child would want to get money through any means whether legally or not.

I am very sure such a father never intended to hurt the society, his only wish was for his son to have the best of life, but he never realized a demon was forming from such. Another man would look at the mistake of this man and decide to always punish his own son for every little thing in the hope of instilling fear in him but at the end of the day he might end up creating someone used to punishment alone. This is because humans are different , what would make one person afraid would make another bold. Human response can be very unpredictable, and for every criminal you see (except psychopacts) there is a story of what forged them and made their heart so strong that they would not think twice to commit crime. Every human was born innocent, but things happen and they change our perspective about life. The heart of a human would not be hardened in one day, if for some reason it is hardened, it is because somehow somewhere something happened that changed their perspective.

But then again there is another reason there are criminals, and there is punishment. This is not as a result of something good, it is as a result of something dark and wrong with the law. This is when the law itself begins to break and find ways to make good look bad in order to fulfill a selfish agenda. At this point the law might suddenly decide to go against a certain group of people who were living their normal lives and call them criminals because someone in power has an issue with them. At this point the law is the criminal and not the ones they call crimials.I have seen this happen to a lot of human rights activists. This is when the law begins to describe what is good and bad, the law begins to change the concept of right and wrong to suit a particular agenda. At this point people are called criminals not because they are bad, but because the law and some people in power decided they are bad and must be locked away or die.
