BALANCING THE SCALES

We live in a world where the rich get richer and the poor find excuses why they are not rich. But then when we look at it we discover that the reason why the rich get richer is because they learned the things the poor do not know. One of the things they learned is how to sell themselves. To date I am still learning how to sell myself, I mean I would be very rich if I had learned how to sell myself. The rich have mastered this act, and the poor can only wonder how it’s been done. This is why I do not object to kids selling themselves through a brand. What I object to however is parents getting carried away and letting the kids grow up faster than they really should. There are kids who have seen the lame light and still kept their childhood, and there are those who have been exposed to more than they should be and do not end up lasting at the top. The top can be very lonely and come with a lot of experiences new to those who are experiencing it for the first time, if not properly guided will make terrible mistakes.

An artist like Justine Bibber is a very perfect example. He grew up right before our eyes and ended up growing up faster than us. In my opinion, the fact that he was exposed to a lot of things was a major red flag for him as a child. It always becomes hard to cope with too much attention. Everyone suddenly starts worshiping them and making them feel like they are something they are not. The crowd surrounds them, imagine how people would faint at the site of an artist. This does something to the child psychologically, it takes their childhood away. It makes their mates see them and think they are unworthy to even match the very ground they work on and this is very bad for even an adult talkless child. In my opinion the kind of brand a child influences is very important in how the world perceives them. I understand that it is not easy to control the narrative of the world, however you have the choice to control what you bring into it.

In my opinion, the major thing that kills any child artist is management. I do not mind my child learning how to sell himself as a business person, but then again, I would want my child to be able to go to the park and play as a child with friends, I would want them to be able to sleep at night without worries of interviews and the politics adults face. I would rather handle all that while they just go to school and be the kids that they are. This would teach them how to sustain wealth, it would teach them discipline and responsibility. If they are not managed well, the world will end up reaping them limb to limb and when their childhood suffers, their adulthood would suffer as well.

You raised some valid points, proper management plays a huge role. Talent alone isn't enough without the right guidance.
