I haven’t read a physical book in two years. Since graduating from the university one of the things I stopped doing was reading paper and it isn’t just born out of laziness. Back in school it took me a lot to read. To be honest I can count how many times I read to prepare for an exam. If I picked up a text it was usually to cram and not to read. I easily understand things when they are explained in groups, and once I write down what I understand, it sticks with me forever. This was why one of my major secrets to academic success was being in class because as long as I can see the teacher teach it in class, and understand it that moment jotting down how I have understood it, I am very good to go. I believe that understanding is the key for my success. I have seen it over time and for me, I do not need to read like others to understand.

This is one of the reasons why I do not see myself going for masters or PHD in my current course and most especially not in this part of the world. I understand by practicals, theory gives me a headache, in fact reading gives me a headache. The time I went to the hospital to check out why I was having a migraine, the doctor said It was stress induced. But when I told him that all I did was sit at home to read (try to read) he instantly said it was the reason. Then he gave me a long text to read while monitoring my vitals and showed me how my brain activities sike u when I read. He advised me to find other methods of reading and try to reduce the normal method for that period. But I guess I have taken it too far because since then I hardly read physical books. I enjoy listening to audio books or watching tutorial videos. They are easier for me to relate to, although currently giving me ear pains.
I remember how much I stopped reading since the doctor's diagnosis. It’s graduated from a medical condition to a habit. Now I am too lazy to read almost anything in heart. I just prefer playing them and listening or watching to reading. Be it physical or digital books. All the books in my house are just wasting away, to be honest I do not know when I would or even if I would ever pick them up again. I do not read for pleasure, I read to know, and it is always stressful whenever I am trying to know something new. So for me, reading is a must do, not because I enjoy it. Perhaps I will need to learn how to go old school again. It really isn’t easy to be honest, I am not even sure it is something I want to do now. When I think about physical books, I get a headache lol. This is how I know it has grown from the medical condition which it was to a really bad habit.

I also prefer listening to books especially when it is like a motivation books, which app do you use to listen to your books.
It depends on the book I'm listening to. I usually use Spotify for formal books. Then pocket FM for my fictional books
I think reading is a must do for everyone, I doubt there is a way to actually avoid it completely.
