A day after I was robbed, I had to find a way to access all my company files and server information immediately. The company might be able to sympathize with my loss, but they will definitely take the loss of any data seriously and thus it was essential that I find a way to ensure that the company did not lose anything aside from a laptop. Recovering those files wasn't easy, and it would have been worse if not for the fact that I was always using the normal google backup for my passwords. The first challenge I had was accessing the company official google account. Despite the fact that I know the password offhand, it was still hard accessing the account as it required a 2-factor authentication which I had set up a long time ago. Okay it required at least three out of three verifications for every new user and part of the verification needed the linked sim card, and a phone access of which I had lost both.

Luckily I remembered I connected my bosses sim to my official sim which saved me a big deal, and then I connected my email to at least one of the company official phones. I had forgotten about the connection I made long ago, until the person using the official phone told me about the verification she was getting. This discovery gave me a breath of fresh air and allowed me to fully access everything I did not have access to. It also made me recover a lot of my personal accounts and ensured I set up security measures in place to safeguard both my data and the company's data. But on a lighter note, going through all these made me discover how much I rely on google security and a lot of it cloud storage systems in securing my data.
There are a few pieces of data I have lost because they were not backed up to my onedrive. I do have some third party apps I use in safeguarding my files, but even those are backed up on my google cloud and my google account is backed up by other third party apps and devices and vice versa. But the fact that google is easily accessible especially in this part of the world where I can just get a system with a google account. Even my Microsoft account is connected to Google but accessing it is usually very hard. However, because I use it everyday, it is easy to navigate. One of the things I have discovered is that there will always be security threats, so finding a browser that can offer me security and also user friendly is always a joy to have. I still miss my PC, but working on my browser makes it look like I never lost anything in the beginning. I still have other browsers I visit once a while, but my data on most are already gone for good. Perhaps it is because I do not take them as important as I do with google, but then again, it is what it is.
THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO HIVE LEARNER'S PROMPT FOR WEEK 209 EPISODE 1

Wow it was a long process at least you could solve it.
Yeah right, at least I did
I am glad you were able to recover some of your files. That google account auto password backup is a very nice feature and am happy it exists, as it has helped alot too
