A BULLY IS A BULLY

When it comes to bullying I do not take it lightly, whether it is online or offline, I believe that everyone has the right to live freely without experiencing any form of bullying whether online or offline. I also believe that damages done emotionally take longer time to heal than some of the ones done physically. It is not easy enduring bullies and whenever I see someone using the power or position to intimidate others especially to the point of depriving them of their fundamental human right just because they feel that they can do it and get away with it, it gets me pissed off to my bones. I don’t just hate bullying, I hate everything bullies stand for, I even have the tendency to hate them and whenever I come across them, I do not avoid them, rather I find ways to make them suffer the same thing they do to others.

I remember one time back in school, I had a roommate who was very muscular and because he was in the military he was always trying to intimidate everyone in the hostel. For this reason I started making sure I dealt with him in ways he never saw coming. I really brought out the petty side of me as I would do everything to frustrate him especially when we had tests or exams. I would take his pen in the exam hall, make him go find or buy another one then drop it where he can see it, or take his fullscap sheet and make him right before a test starts and make him beg others only for him to find it afterwards. Sometimes when he cooks and tries to hide it I will intentionally find ways to let people know and before you know it, the hungry students are begging him.

At a point I reported his theft to the school authorities anonymously after which he was expelled. For him I do not feel any regrets because he was one to beat up anyone who annoys him. One time he almost beat me if not for the fact that he knew I had connections in school. He preys on the weak, steals from almost everyone including the needy without remorse so yeah, he does deserve everything he got. When it comes to the online space however, it’s worse especially when the bully becomes a troll or has lots of followers and decides that they can ride on the weak. I hate these kinds of things, especially in a time when people use social media as a means of earning. You can not tell others to report a particular account because you do not like the owner of the account and you have your followers to back you up. Any form of bullying should be fought against, so long it preys on the weak, it should not be accepted. If we say cyber bullying isn’t physical, you will be surprised the number of people that have committed suicide because they could not take the toxicity of others.
