Passion over Money

Before I got into school, I heard a lot about the tertiary institution I attended. Then from one of the stories I was told it was mostly advanced men who went to school I mean men over 30 years old. School then was a struggle and you have to try every possible best to excel. Then the certificate was considered on merit and there wasn't anything like sorting a course.

People read to pass, at night every corner of the building was filled with torch light of people who came for night class. When school resumes you must surely see students in school the first day but now when school resumes students will give themselves extra two weeks before resuming. And you will see lecturers teaching in animate objects in class and that particular topic won't be taught again.

But now, I just can't tell what is going on, then if you fail you will surely repeat a class but your parents can actually bribe the teacher and youo see that student passing that subject. People write exams for others and it's so appalling that medical students ask others to write exams for them. What happens after school when you need to take care of a life patient?

Furthermore, the next person I have met who is so passionate about his work is the dental surgeon I worked with in a dental clinic. I could actually write a book about him. He is just one person I have seen who is more passionate about human life than every other surgeon I have ever met.

Let me give you an instance, there was this full full denture we constructed for a patient. Firstly when she came, we had a series of challenges fitting in the denture, we were almost done with it and it was already fitting after a series of trimming done. My Boss cancelled the work and said he was going to start it from the beginning.

He gave the patient the denture and booked another date for her to come for the second denture. My mouth dropped, I can't just explain the series of stress that day. The patient couldn't climb up the stairs and our clinic is upstairs so we are forced to climb up and down trying hard to fit in the denture.

I have seen my boss several times conceal jobs if he is not satisfied with it and all his dentures are constructed with heat cure procedures. If you're in my field, you will know the difference between heat cure and cold cure dentures. Most people go for cold cure dentures because it is easier to handle. Within a few minutes you're done but heat cure takes lots of time to finish up.

Some will go to the extent of charging a patient for a heat cure job and end up delivering a cold cure job which the patient won't know because they are the same. The difference is based on the material.

Secondly, my boss is passionate about young people. While working with him, he always allows us to work on our patients in his clinic. He always advised us to get our own personal apparatus and advice is to always market ourselves. Tell me people about what you do, don't shy away.
