Going back in time sometimes or most times seem like it is the best choice we can make especially when things don’t seem to be going well for us. We always wish we can turn back the hand of time and do things differently so as to avoid being where we are today. In as much as this sounds appealing to an extent, and even though I also have had this thoughts sometimes, I still don’t agree with the idea of time travel. Going back in time or some even wish to take a peep into the future.
Looking at the mess we are in here in my country, one will be so tempted to accept an offer to kick us back in time go be able to restore things to a better state. We are sometimes tempted to believe that if we change our choices, we might also get to change our present situation. But then, we are only sure of what the choices our fathers have made and where it has gotten us, we don’t know more than that. Yes, we might have a perfect idea of how things would be different if we chose walking in another path but then, we are still not sure of the outcome.
So for me, if I have the opportunity to time travel, I will prefer to stick to what I have now and focus more on how things are now, and use that energy and knowledge of how things are, to make amends as much as I can. As they say, the devil you know, it’s better than an angel you don’t know. The fact that I already know the consequences of the choices made, I’m a lot wiser to know why I need to avoid making such choices in the future. But then, if I turn back the hands of time, I’m not even guaranteed that I’d make a better choice. I mean, we might end up only making things more complicated and hard to understand again.
So, instead of trying to clear off my mistakes completely, as long as I still have life, I think it is better to just make amends and learning from the experiences I have had from my poor choice making. Even as this also sounds like a dumb choice to make, I still feel more confident in it because I have more knowledge of how things might tend to turn out than if I try to go back in time. One thing we have to accept as humans is that, we are not perfect and that doesn’t mean we should wallow in our imperfections, no, it means that even in our imperfect state, trying to become perfect is what makes us more satisfied.
If we are unlucky to have made a wrong choice, the best thing we can do for ourselves is to accept the fact that we have made a wrong choice and seek for ways to make things right, rather than trying to run away from the choices we made ourselves. We have to stand up to our mistakes and try to set it right with every opportunity we get. Even when it seems like there might be no way out, until the very end, we just have to keep trying to make amends. Bearing in mind that, it is because of our mistakes and successes that we have a history in the first place.
There is no guarantee that we can completely make only good decisions, we are definitely going to make some poor decisions at some point and it is fine. All that should matter to us is making sure we don’t make one mistake twice because we are going to keep suffering from the consequences. Time travel, I believe tonce depended on or used, we will always find ourselves leaning towards it every time we make a mistake. Instead, we should learn to do the right thing and make better choices.
Thank you for stopping by. ❤️
I think there is nothing good in changing the past by time traveling. We need to keep in mind that we learn from mistakes and if we avoid making mistakes in the past by time traveling, we may make the mistakes later. So, I think there is no benefit of correcting mistakes of the past from time traveling.
That’s right, Intishar. I’m glad you completely understood my point about this.
Thanks for your thoughtful input. 🥰
Hey, Baby. Good morning.❤️
I just finished reading your post and I must say that to some extent, your points are valid. While I see sense in the points you've presented, I have to respectfully disagree with your overall perspective. I do not completely agree with you, love.
It is true that humans, at some point in our lives, we have wished to go back in time and change the hands of the clock. Have you ever made a mistake and say “I wish I had not done this thing.” or “I was so stupid to have done this thing.”
Now, I agree with you that the devil you know is better than the angel you don’t know. Going back in time to change a historical event can alter either yield positive or negative effects. For me, it is a fair gamble and I'm willing to grab it with both hands.
Let’s use our country as a case study. Things are in their worst state. Do you think people would prefer to “stick to this correct situation, focus on the way things are now and use the knowledge to make things better?” In my opinion, that is not the better option,
Regardless of what would happen, if I had the opportunity to time travel and the power to change a thing or two, I’d make sure that this administration loses the election. It’s a fair gamble. Life is all about taking risks. And this one, my love, is a fair one.
Thanks for sharing, evol.❤️
Good morning, love. ❤️
I’m glad you think my points are valid but…
Well, I still stand by what I have said, in as much as I wish for a clean slate especially when I have done something that I can’t even talk of, being alive is the best second chance I have been given and I just like to see it from that angle.
It’s a good thing you’d prefer accepting the offer but I prefer to face the consequences of my actions instead, even though I know I will wish I chose otherwise, lol.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with me, although it’s somehow sad that you don’t agree with me but it’s fine, hehe.
My comment isn't intended to change your perspective, but rather to share mine.
I don’t think it is sad that I do not agree with you. We do not share the same head, hence, different opinions and perspectives.

Well your thought on this subject is ok anyways because the future is better than now hence mistakes should be template that would enable one make amend against the now.
Thanks for sharing dear
