BALANCE IN DESIGN

In life, we all play different roles and have something that is rather unique to us. Every race has something that makes them different from another. Every species has a trait that makes them stand out and so much more. When God created everything, he set the hierarchy, making man (humans) to have dominion over every other creature. So from this and also what we see today in our world, it is undeniable that man is above every other creature. One unique thing about man is that when it was time for man to be created, he said “let us”. It was at that point we even knew God is not just one person but 3 in one. He said, “let us make man in our own image and likeness”. This for me, speaks a lot.

After God was done creating everything, he rested on the 7th day and after, he saw that the man he has created was lonely and he put him to deep sleep and took his rib to create a woman. If you are an honest person, you will see that this alone has showed that there is a difference between a man and a woman and they can’t even be equal even if they wanted to. Well, you can choose to accept or deny it. So, when we talk of gender equity, it is only going to cause more problems and confusion among us trying to make women’s role same as that of a man and vice versa. In God’s plan of creation, he created both of them (man and woman) for different reasons.

This is not to say the men should step on the woman as they like just the way we have heard and seen, no, those people obviously abused their powers and probably did not know they hurt themselves in the process too. There are consequences for our actions whether or not we are ready for them. A woman has a special role that no matter how much the man try, he can never play that role and same goes for the man too. I believe that if we stick to our roles, there will be no conflicts as we see today in our world. As women today, we have been made to think that our feminine is not good enough and we need to do what the men are doing to prove that we are not weaklings.

Now, we are so concerned about proving a point and completely ignoring some of our roles and that also goes to the men too. As the creator planned it, the man is to provide for his family and the woman is to manage the home. The man is to love and the woman is to be submissive. Yes, we accepted some of these roles but that is if they work in our favor. The moment we see that it is not working, we start to fight them and create another path for ourselves that we think is better. In a family, God is the head of a man and the man is the head of a woman.

Here’s an illustration to explain my point using the human body. Since man is said to be the head of the woman, take a look at the human head, it houses the brain and spinal cord which we also refer to as the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS is what controls and coordinates the whole body. And then, there is the neck which carried the head and acts as a passage for the messages that are carried to and from the head. It is most times not appreciated but it plays a major role in helping the head function well and that is what the woman is. So, even if a woman doesn’t coordinates or controls things, if anything is wrong with her, a lot of things will go wrong with the head and even the body too.

My advice is to women, yes, sometimes we are treated in unpleasant ways because we are seen to been lesser but that doesn’t mean we should try to play the role of the head (men), instead we should seek to learn what our roles are and play them well. Remember that the head of a man is God, so when it gets hard, just go to his head and tell him about it. Just like what they tell us in school, if someone offends you, don’t try to take the laws in your hands and fight back, go and tell it to someone higher than you. All you have to do is focus on the power you carry as a woman and groom it.
