In those days, my mum told me they had to walk miles to get to school, and this even after running some early morning errands from the farm to the market, they didn't even have books, talk more of the e-books we have access to today. They instead use slates and native chalk, and I wondered how they revised before examination.
What about age consideration, today, a child as low as the age of 1 is already accepted into creche, and continues from there to kindergaten, nursery and the rest of the classes, those days, before a child could be accepted in school, they went through physical assestment, that is, such child should be able to touch the other side of their ear, then imagine if a child had slow growth, that means such child would have to wait longer than his or her mate.
We can't also talk about how both genders have access to education today due to the enlightenment of parents compared to the old times where the male child were mostly the opportuned ones, while the females were expected to stay at home, according to them, women education will always end in the kitchen, sadly, some parent still hold such ignorant believe today, and don't push their femle children beyond basic education, they consider sponsoring their daughters as waste of fund as they will eventually end up married.
Overall, the financial situation of most guardians or parent is still another problem that makes them give up on giving quality education to their chidren, it's easy for us to see big talks from the government or politicians claiming education is free, the truth is that it isn't, as parent still bear the burden of paying tution fees, buy books and other neccecities which coupled together makes going to school expensive and even unaffordable to many, some have to s result to selling family lands and other properties to ensure their children become graduates.
Today, the education system has improved thanks to the help of technology. Learning has become more accessible and convenient, as students can now study from the comfort of their homes and be certified through online schools/universities. There are also educational apps for students of all ages, which have enabled students to explore and learn beyond the classroom.

Both boys and girls have equal rights to education, and the girl child is also proving her worth to society, clearing the doubts of the ignorant. I recently learned that most banks we have in Nigeria today have more females as their MD, all thanks to education. The female child is no longer left behind for the kitchen duties only, as they have proven to be much more than that.
education is a very important thing. Thank God parents are more enlightened nowadays compared to when they don't educate their female child siding the fact that they will marry them off
