We live in a digital world where the use of phones and other smart devices has become so common across people of different ages, and work of life. These devices are so smart that they help act as a personal assistant, helping us take care of basic day-to-day activities, and most especially, act as a source of income to most of us, so it's no surprise that we've easily caved to being addicted to our phones.
Some of us can't even consciously drop our phone for a minute, and there are also others like myself who most times fall asleep with our phones in hands( I know it's a bad habit, but we can't help it, sometimes) and when we are awake, our first thought is usually reaching out to our phones even before saying a prayer for the day.
If I had a soft life without a demanding offline job, I'd probably always be with my phone except when I'm asleep, as my phone also serves many purposes for me, from being my office, a source of entertainment, a library, and a memory bank, etc So when I'm working, especially on an intricate design that deserves full attention, trust me to forget about my phone during that period, I even make sure to put it on DND and this can take up to a couple of hours without me caring, except I need it as a source of inspiration.
Another time I can do without my phone is if I'm working with a limited time frame, imagine having to complete an outfit that should take a week in just 24-48 hours, having my phone nearby would definitely slow me down, as I would often get distracted to either chat with a client or get carried away watching Tiktok. To avoid disappointing my client, I sacrifice my phone time. So yes, I can go for more than 2 hours without touching my phone.
The only period I would feel restless without my phone is if it gets severely damaged or goes missing. I almost became a victim of a missing phone last week, and I literally became restless when I discovered my phone was missing, i started imagining how I would live without my phone because I was sure of not being able to afford a phone for now, I imagined so many things i had to do with my phone and started feeling sick after not finding it lol.
Luckily for me, it got found and I regained my full health, that is so much effect our phone has on us, I know it's concerning but it is all for a good cause. If I didn't have my phone, there was no way I would be on Hive right now, and get to read, learn, and connect amazing authors here on Hive.
So many contacts and business deals I've made through the help of my phone. I'm currently undergoing some online studies with certification with the help of my smart devices from the comfort of my home, there is so much our devices do for us, so yes they deserve that special place in our hands hearts.

If we actually know how to make good use of our time and phone, we would benefit a lot from us else it would be a total distraction to us.
Exactly, using it for the best purposes is the goal
Phones should be added to the list of things humans need to survive. I can't imagine a life without it.
lol, sure, we are in a digital age.
It is understandable.
Based on the rate at which we make use of our smartphones, it has become our closest companion. I remember when my phone was stolen, I felt its absence like it was a missing person.
In this age and time where everyone is going digital, a phone should be a starter pack to survival.
Phone be acting the role of our spouse and best friend, our boss and messenger. I can relate to that missing phone moments when your heart would have skipped multiple times. Thinking about other ways to survive
