Taking a new leaf in 2025

As I enter the new year of 2025, this is me reflecting deeply on the changes I want to embrace. In 2024, I engaged in behaviors and mindsets that were not ME, and I am determined to reclaim my true self. I desire a return to the gentle, quiet, and calm person I used to be. Recently, I have been struggling with anger, which is not a part of who I am at all. This shift in my ways of life has started to affect my overall well-being, and I am committed to making a change.

After recognizing the importance of surrounding myself with positivity. I firmly believe in the adage that says; bad company corrupts good manners. Throughout 2024, I was impacted by negative discussions and toxic relationships that drained my energy and enthusiasm. These influences led to a series of unfortunate events that I do not want to carry into 2025. They have taken a toll on my mental health, leading me to feel inferior and like a shadow of my former self. I became overly emotional about things that should be of less concern not of significant importance, which distracted me from my genuine self.

In my home, this emotional confusion manifested in my interactions with my loved ones. My children often noticed my distant relationships and frequently asked me what I was thinking about, as they could see that I was lost in thought. I don’t want to dwell on these burdens anymore, I want to break free from the chains of negativity that have held me captive for too long. My aim is to step into 2025 with a renewed sense of purpose and clarity.

I long to rediscover the essence of Who I am Adeola, the person who radiates positivity and cares less about the distractions that life throws her way. I want to embody calmness, serenity, and resilience as I navigate through life's challenges. I must cultivate a mindset that prioritizes my mental health and well-being, focusing on the things that truly matter. I aim to engage in activities that bring me joy, surround myself with supportive individuals, and foster an environment of encouragement and growth.

My journey to reclaim myself will involve setting boundaries to protect my emotional space and choosing to engage only in conversations and relationships that uplift me. I am ready to let go of the toxic influences that have entered into my life and contribute to a cycle of negativity. Moving forward, I want to embrace peace, approach challenges with a level-headedness, and contribute positively to the lives of those around me. This is me in 2025.

So, as I embark on this journey of self-discovery and growth with the affirmation: I am ADEOLA, and I deserve to live joyfully. With God's help, I will reclaim my gentle spirit and become the best version of myself once again. Watch out!

Wow. These are great plans to embrace in this new year. I have also been working on my anger but it seems I didn't do much about it last year which I want to start inculcating now. We all long to work on ourselves and to free ourselves from negativity, and that's something that will make us better persons. May God help us.
