The cost of living in the busiest city. Lagos State.

We all know how bad the economic state of the world collapsed after the pandemic in 2020; while some countries have been able to navigate their way out of it, some countries are still getting hit by recession, and one of those countries is mine (Nigeria). I always wonder what other countries had to do to get out of their poor state to the current place they are so the political leaders can learn from them so they can help the citizens, but nothing of such seems to be happening.

The rate at which the inflation in the country is increasing is alarming because the price you met at the market today is something different than you would be meeting the following week.

The cost of living in my state now is so scary that having a crate of eggs now feels like a luxury life. I remember buying one egg for 20 naira to 50 naira, and in the space of 2 years, one egg is 250 naira and a crate of eggs is very close to 7 thousand naira.

It's very sad that if one wants to cook healthy food, they have to spend tens of thousands before they can have good food on their table. It is just so sad. Just to eat in a day, I have to spend close to three thousand naira and just so you know, that's just breakfast.

The price of transportation is nothing to write home about. Why should I move within the city and spend 5 thousand naira just to get to my destination? I have stopped using car services like Uber or Bolt. Within the city, from my parents' place to my place, a Bolt car wanted to collect 24 thousand naira from me. I had no choice but to carry my bags and other things inside the public bus because that seemed cheaper, but I still spent five thousand naira.

The truth is, other states within the country aren't as bad as Lagos State. The cost of renting an apartment in Lagos State is crazily expensive; even if you take that same amount of money to some other state, you would get a better house than in Lagos State.

I feel changing location to another country will help me a lot. Oh, not another state in the same country; another state in another country will go a long way in improving my life. The bad part about the cost of living in Lagos state is that, last year, I wasn't even earning as much as I am earning now, but the difference between last year and this year, I can't even tell. This is because even when your income doubles or triples, the cost of living does the same thing.

The only thing that can change my life in this same state is if I can get a little bit of money, something like 1.5 billion Naira. That amount of money will go a long way in putting things in order in my life. There are so many business ideas I would like to implement that I would never go broke again. Having that amount of money would change my life in a good way.
