Reality TV shows vs the real world
In modern day entertainment, reality TV shows have become a major part of it, Focusing more on beauty, lifestyle, wealth, and relationships far from the average man reality.
Most of these shows have mounted so much pressure on individuals especially for the ladies cause we seem to be their targeted audience. I'm not saying it doesn't have influence on the male gender but it does have more influence on the females. Ever since BBL and plastic surgery is seen as normal, every day it is one body insecurity that the ladies have been noticing. I come across this stuff a lot on tiktok and they now make it a challenge where Ladies talk about it. If it is not with their face, it is either their bust, back side, legs, hip dip and so forth. They are even advised to go for surgery if money wasn't the issue. Because of insecurities, some have lost their lives to the cold hands of death trying to meet up to the new standard while before this so called reality shows, the majority of the people loved themselves for who they are but now the reverse is the case.
Reality TV shows about marriage are even the worst. You hear mature people corrupting the heart of youths about marriage all because they have a failed relationship. Yes, relationship isn't a bed of roses nor bad as some speak about it. They were probably the problems in their home but will refuse to speak the truth. People have lost good relationships because they want to follow someone else's pattern. Put pressure on their men to get them stuff that is of no benefit because someone said on a show that if your man doesn't do things a certain way then he doesn't love you. No wonder we have lots of broken relationships scattered in society. The ladies want to rub shoulders with the men while the men are insecure about the lifting of a woman. If this is what reality TV shows are all about then it's of no use to humanity, causing more harm than good. I intentionally stopped myself from watching some reality shows because it is just a matter of time that my ideology will change without me realizing, because we become a reflection of what we constantly hear and see.
So long as man must make money by all means especially when the economy system has been corrupted, these shows will not stop airing and for the sake of other good shows like who wants to be a millionaire and other educational programmes banning the shows will only be a means for even more corrupt developments worse than reality shows. Parents should actively monitor what their children watch, pay close attention to negative words the kids speak and correct them immediately.
