As a student, home work has helped a lot and made me improve. All my lecturers love to give us homework cause they believe once we carry out our assignments faithfully it won't be tough to understand when they come to explain or give corrections.

You are right and so are your teachers. It is always an additional learning experience and greater knowledge acquired. We have to know how to value that.
