Hello Community,
This topic for this edition is somehow on a different side, so here's how I will answer it, so I think it depends on the kind of crime that has been commited by this minor, because not all crimes are the same and not all crimes should be condemnable, I have seen and heard alot of things in this life , and I have seen situations that you cannot just group under one rule.
I do understand on one part why the law clears the records of a minor, and it is because is this idea that they are still young and they are still learning, and they are actually capable of learning, a teenager who made a stupid mistake when he was 14 or 15 years old shouldn't have that thing over his head forever, because People grow, they learn and sometimes what they did in their younger years doesn't reflect who they will be in their older life, if they are not given second chances they might go to do worst than they have actually done before.

But then, I also think that it shouldn't be the same for some kind of Cases too, because some crimes go beyond just mistakes,I'm talking about serious harm that does leave people traumatized for the rest of their life, that kind cannot just be wiped away just like that like it didn't happen, because there the victim of such crimes are still living with the pains, so it feels unfair that the person that did it goes with a clean slate, actually not okay if you ask me. And this is why I feel that it should depend on the kind of crime that has been commited , if it is a minor thing , like petty thief, small fights or things that comes from immaturity then I support a second chance, let them learn from I and mice on with their life, but if it is something that is extreme, then I seriously don't think that it should go away just like that.
Even as minors, you should still know when something you are doing is wrong, maybe not really fully , but to understand that that thing you are doing can hurt someone one way or the other, I believe there has to be balance that protects young people and still making sure that the justice is served accordingly, trying all minors as adults, though, I donβt fully agree with that either, that one feels too harsh. Imagine treating a 13-year-old exactly the same way as a grown adult with full life experience, that does not t sit right with me, Age still matters, maturity still matters, and the environment they grew up in also plays a big role in their actions.
I believe a better approach to this is to look at the case, look at the suitation, the intent, the level of harm, and even the background of the minor, some of this kids act like this because of the environment they were raised in, lack of guidance, and some others know what they are doing, and still go ahead with it,the suitation isn't sand at all.
And at the end of the day, I seriously believe in growth and change, and I do believe that every action has it consequences, clearing records for minors is a good thing , but it shouldnt apply to all. There has to be some kind of fairness, both for who commited the crime and also the victim who suffered for it.
Nice and realistic opinion! Trully mistakes beyond limit is hard to forget for the victim.
