Hello Community ....
Let me start like this, so anything that concerns the Nigerian government, I don’t trust it at all, So why exactly am I giving them access to my privacy? It just feels like I would be doing myself more harm than good without even realizing it, I get the whole idea behind it though, Security is important, nobody wants to live in fear or constantly worry about their safety, if someone says, “Give up your privacy and we will guarantee your safety,” it almost sounds tempting, especially in a country where insecurity is something we deal with often, but then again, at what cost?

Privacy is a deal, It is not something you can just give up easily, it is your space, your freedom to think, speak and live without someone always watching you, When you give that up you are not in control of your life anymore.
Imagine someone knows every call you make every message you send everywhere you go, that is not safe that's watching, Systems like this can be used in ways.
It's easy to say it's for protection, Who protects us from those in charge? Power can change people, without rules things can get out of hand fast.
Today it is about keeping you safe, Tomorrow it might be about controlling what you say, who you aree friends with or what you believe.
Privacy matters....
You should be careful, about giving it up.
Another thing is, safety is not always guaranteed just because there’s surveillance, We have seen situations where people still experience crime even in places with heavy monitoring, so if privacy is gone and safety is still not 100% assured, then what exactly did we gain? It starts to feel like a bad trade,
I also think there’s something about being human that requires a level of privacy, We all have thoughts, conversations, and moments that are meant to be personal, not because we are doing anything wrong,
But because that’s just how life works, noobody wants to live like they are constantly being judged or watched, it can even affect how people behave, making them more reserved, more anxious, and less free, For me, I would rather take a balanced approach, Yes, security matters, but it shouldn’t completely erase privacy, there should be limits, clear rules, and accountability, if there is going to be any form of monitoring, it should be targeted and justified, not something that puts everyone under a microscope all the time.
At the end of the day, giving up privacy entirely for safety just does not sit right with me, It feels like giving away something too valuable for a promise that might not even be fully kept, I would rather live in a system where my rights are very respected and my safety is handled responsibly, not one where I have to sacrifice my freedom just to feel protected.
so no, for me, it is not worth it, privacy is not something I am willing to trade off completely, no matter how good the offer of security sounds.
This is the truth; unfortunately, it's impossible to evade the surveillance. Recently, I logged into a new account on social media; when it was time to make payment, my bank card details popped up. So, there's no more privacy anywhere; we should swallow the bitter pill and be careful how we live. Thanks for sharing
