Memes & Gifs. Makes The Internet A Better Place.

Imagine you wake up tomorrow and you see that memes and GIFs are gone from social media, seriously that would be really boring.

I know some people think memes and GIFs are silly jokes but trust me they are a big part of how we talk to each other online, sometimes one meme can show how you are feeling better than a paragraph of writing.

As a Nigerian I do not know how we would deal with things online without memes and GIFs.

We have a meme for everything.

When NEPA takes the light, There is a meme for that.

When Fuel prices go up,There is a meme for that.

Your football team loses badly? There are lots of memes waiting for you even before the game is over.

When things are tough in life, Nigerians find a way to laugh about it , and memes and GIFs help us do that, well not only Nigerians , there are memes that are popular all over the world.

I think memes and GIFs make the internet a more fun place.

One thing I like about them is that they make it easier to talk to people, Sometimes I see a message and instead of writing an answer I just send a GIF or sticker or emoji any one I see fit, and the other person knows what I mean right away.

There are GIFs for all kinds of feelings, Happiness, sadness, confusion, excitement, even when you are being sarcastic.

The same thing is true for memes,
sometimes you see a meme that is just like something that happened to you and you start laughing because you know exactly what it means, it is like a language that everyone understands.

I also like that memes help people deal with stress, memes do not solve problems but they can make tough situations feel a little better sometimes.

There have been days when I was stressed about work or money, then I saw a funny meme online, I started laughing, that little moment of laughter can really make your day better.

I think that is why memes spread quickly, people like things that make them smile.

Course like everything on the internet memes can be used in bad ways.

Sometimes people use memes to spread information or make fun of others, We have all seen jokes go too far.

So some memes might not always good.

The problem is not the meme itself, it is how people use it.

When I think about it , I think the good things about memes outweigh the bad things.

The internet is more fun because of memes and GIFs and stickers, see people from countries and cultures can laugh at the same joke even if they do not speak the same language and that is like really cool when you do think about it.

As for whether memes and GIFs are a big part of the internet, I would say yes, they are a part of internet culture now, you can hardly go on social media without seeing a meme or GIF or sticker

They are everywhere, like on WhatsApp, Facebook, X, Instagram, Telegram and even some work platforms too.

If we took memes away from the internet , it would be like taking seasoning out of food, the food would still be there, It would not be as enjoyable.

So for me an internet world without memes and GIFs wont be so much fun, the internet would still work, people would still talk to each other, social media would still be there.

It would lose a lot of its personality.

As a Nigerian who likes to laugh I do not think I would like that version of the internet.
