Civil service should be provided for the kids

Good day, amazing people of Hive. Welcome back to my blog. It is another edition in the #hivelearners community. I am so delighted to participate in this week's prompt child services

Children should be well taken care of; they should be safe in their country. When I saw this topic, I asked myself, Does Nigeria have a child service? Because I have not come across the child service in my country. Child services are organisations that provide support and care for the kids. Child services may exist in other countries, but here in my country they are zero.

Kids are suffering in my country without anyone coming to their aid. Kids are taking responsibility at their tender age, while these are kids that should be taken care of; they ended up caring for the responsibilities of their families and younger ones. They should be in school and not hawking on the major and main roads. Our government failed to understand the importance of child services.

Most times these parents have no choice but to give out their kids to people as maids who maltreat and abuse them. Most of the kids love education, but due to funding, the kids say farewell to education. In some families the first borns have to sacrifice for their younger siblings, and they start taking up responsibilities above them. It has always broken my heart when I see these kids hawking on the road or being maltreated by someone.

Children are being maltreated and abused, but there is no way their voice can be heard because no one will listen to them. The only people who could listen to them are child services, but I doubt if my country has a functioning one. In other developed countries they don’t play with their kids; they attend to the issues concerning the kids immediately.

Child services should provide all the things a child needs in order to make life easy and enjoyable for these kids. No parent will like to see their child suffer. Poverty plays a vital role in this. These kids have to hawk in order to put food on their table.

Never this year did my governor instruct that any kid that they see on the road hawking that the task force will arrest the kid. I was asking myself, is this the child service that we need? What about the government providing a standard education for these kids, healthcare and child protection?

If truly we have a child service in my country, they should be up and doing; kids are suffering. Let us protect these kids because they are the future of tomorrow.

We really need a functioning child service in my country. These kids are suffering without anyone coming to their aid. What people will be the voice these kids never had? Most of these kids hawking on the road are being molested. We seriously need people who will stand up for these kids and protect them. It will be nice if our government and non-profit organisation take action on things about the kids.
