The effect of computer and how i cope with it

We are now in the Era of Modern technologies, so many things have become easier ranging from communications to transportations and so many more, it is unlike the old days when people trek miles and spent months on the road to visit their loved ones, only the rich use horse and donkey as their mode of transport....

Computer is one of those things that make life easier and better, we can now communicate with people from all over the world right in the corner of our room and all it takes is just one second to deliver our message, what could be nicer that this?

There is nothing with advantage that won't have disadvantages but i would say the advantages of computer is more than the cons....

  • You can fall in love, create special bond with someone you have never seen before just by messaging them on your computer

  • You can work from the comfort of your home , earn money to sustain your family without having to step out of your door..

  • You can get any informations you need online and also learn new things with your computer...

I won't be able to list all the pros because they are just too many, the problem is we fell in love with our computers to the extent that we become addicted and can't do without it and that is kind of affecting us...

There was this guy who said he was losing his eyesight and that is because of his laptop screen light, his eyes is always bringing out water whenever he stares at the screen of the computer and it got worst that he had to visit an optician, i don't really know what caused his eyes ailment because not many people have complained about that and i have not had a reason to complain of such since i have been using my computers.... So he is definitely doing something wrong and here are some things i try to avoid when using my computer....

  • Dimming the screen light: This is very important, brightening your screen and staring at it for too long can damage your eyes and make you lose your vision, this has helped me a great deal...

  • Do not work on your laptop in a dark room: Your may have keyboard light and be able to see what you are doing on your computer in a dark room but your eyes is going... I used to do this in the past but after seeing the effect it was having on my vision, i stopped it..

  • Take a break : As much as we don't like to leave our computers alone at all because almost all what we need to do can be done through it now, we can work and earn, we can have fun, we can have sex chat, we can order food, we can listen to music, we can attend online classes, play games, just name it! it makes the computer take all the time but still we need a break, take a break and stroll out to receive fresh air and exercise your body...

  • Sleep well: To be honest i hardly stroll out but i do sleep well even though i do not have a fixed time, sometimes i work throughout the night and sleep in the day and some other time it is vice versa, but nature can't be cheated, i sleep well enough so my eyes, brain and body can function properly, if there is any strain in my eyes due to staring at my mobile or pc for too long, once i sleep by the time i wake up, it is all good..

Yeah sleeping well, refreshes your memory, and help you to recall things. My mum would say that sleep is one of the most important stuffs to do.
For people who sleep so well they would be called lazy people, but I would suggest the it is good to take sometimes and sleep, so as to be refreshed.

yes sleep is good, i always feel energized and my brain works great whenever i sleep well.. but sleeping all day is not advisable, one need to be productive as well, laziness is not allowed😁

Sleeping right just like other points you made is particularly important. We tend to neglect it. The last thing I look at at night is my phone and it's the very first thing I pick up in the morning plus I sleep really late and have to wake up quite early. For the rest of the day, it's me and my phone(bad eye habit!).

I try to adjust tho but I make excuses for myself because I wear glasses. Even with the glasses I've noticed how my eye health seems to keep deteriorating.
I'm learning to take breaks now no matter how short the time frame is.

Yes that is an advantage of having a good sleep

It is just as if i am reading about myself cos that is just me too! the phone is the last thing i check before sleeping and once i wake up, also the first thing pick, no doubt we have become addicted to it😁

I sleep really late and have to wake up quite early

This is unhealthy dear, even though i do the same thing but i find a time to balance it by sleeping during the day, but it doesn't seem like you take nap in the day, you should try and be doing that because sleeping late and waking up early can deteriorate your body system... the recommended time to sleep is 8 hours, it doesn't have to be at once but make sure you complete it either 4 to 5 hours in the night and the remaining hours during the day

We've become really addicted but it's not really our fault, is it?
We either have to work on catch up on certain things.

I think I have a long standing conflict with sleep. Actually, I suffer insomnia but I am trying tho.

i really didn't get to know the full story because he dropped the message in a group chat and i just happened to be around when the discussion was going on but after that day, i never bothered to know what happened .. I guess he should be fine or already find a solution to it...

The best is to take rest or sleep when the body demands it. We can't cheat nature and it's impossible to keep using our body without breaking down. We must find methods that works for us in taking care of our eyes through staring at the screen for too long.

Well we have indeed said the same thing but you are missing something but I think it is either you dim your back light or you get glasses either way, you will be helping Your eye sight...

I agree totally on finding love online thanks to PC and also working in the comfort of your zone...

We just need to be careful at all times. I spend much hours on PC nowadays because of engagement and I have reduced it to 12 hours and adequate rest too is essential...

Wow I didn't know working on a computer in a dark room wasn't good.

Decreasing brightness single handedly can take the damage of eye sight to lower.
Another good solution is use such a app that alarm you after every 20 min.You can a eye sight break

Wow, these is really everything there is to say about this topic, yes there are others but you have focused more on the most important things. The computer has so many benefits that if not managed well will end up being a problem.

Most times when we press our phones or pc we get so much engrossed in them that we just find it very hard to stop and this is also one of the major cause of eye problems like you have said and also insomnia.

Sleep is very important to help our body function properly so the more we treat it with no care the more it depreciates in the value it gives out.

I am also a heavy user of computer. I almost sit all day in front of the screen. For the past years, I noticed that my vision has weakened. So I usually take a break by feeding some pets (actually the main reason I acquired some pets) or go on a short bike ride.

Also, I read before that the blue light from our devices shorten our lifespans according to research.
