The Advantages in the Monetization of Social Media outweigh the cons
The monetization of social media has been a blessing because it is a source of income for many people. This also helps curb the crime rate in society because our youth have a legitimate way to earn and do not have to engage in crimes to survive.

The likes of Facebook, TikTok, and the rest now pay their users, even though TikTok is not paying Nigerians and many have to open a US account to earn on it.
Why do we have so many fake news, and porn videos in the name of content and others like this on social media, why do people prefer to post things like this instead of educational content and others that people will learn something. The reason is quite obvious and many people know, they do this to generate Traffic on their blog.
I post on WhatsApp once in a while and most time people don't comment, they just view and pass but one day I posted a sex-leaked video of a student who was suspended in her school and it was not up to 5 minutes after I posted it that my viewers started to send me a comment, not exaggerating, I received up to 15 comments that day regarding the video... If WhatsApp can be monetized and my aim was to monetize it, Immediately I noticed it is such videos that can help me to gain people's attention, that is what I will be posting.
We have many TVs on WhatsApp that post porn on their status so they can have viewers, people love those videos more.

There was a time when one Nigerian content creator[a lady] posted a video of her breast online and it trended on TikTok for days which made more people know her, recently she bought a car from the money she earned as a content creator so social media is really paying, she said it was a mistake but people who watched the video knew she did it intentionally just to get traffic and it worked for her, some others also tried the same thing and even though it didn't trend like that girl own but they got their audience.
It is sad one can't let their children scroll on social media for long alone because of the adult-rated content they will come across which could influence them in a bad way, even Facebook was not spared from these people that shake their booty.
In the end, Social media has more advantages than disadvantages, it is a source of livelihood for many and I fear if anything happens to it, it will be disastrous as it will lead to an increase in the crime rate as many will be rendered jobless.

I think people easily react to news like that than the educating ones; the moment you post irrelevant things, it becomes viral. You'd see people talking about it like it's one big thing.
That is just it, one lady made a testimony about how she makes good video online but she never trend until she did one video where she was eating like a glutton and that went viral , we promote irrelevant things in this society and that is why more of that stuff are being dished out.
That is it, get people interested. Give them something they like and they will keep coming for more. Despite the fact that we complain about these things, we are still the ones that consume it and give these content creators the traffic they need. Your one second view counts and that like, it goes a long way.
The social media is helpful, we can always control what we want to see. But most times we get carried away and then, it comes popping up every time, lol.

Nigerian people and porn na 5 and 6. Why can't they'll just get married and all that. Anyways, the rise of porn related content is because people prefer contents as this. I use to know someone that does mathematics and engineers stuffs, but a lot of people don't want to learn online, just to watch memes, sabinus and porn with their hard-earned data. God have mercy
