Reading the atmosphere before making a decision on what to say is important

There was a time I ordered a phone online, and it was not a normal phone. It is a blockchain phone, and the manufacturers promised the buyers a potential airdrop. It cost me 130 dollars and some months to get this phone.

Some of you who explored other blockchains must have heard of Jambo phone; the phone costs 100 dollars, and the shipping fee was 30. I was excited the day I received a call from a dispatch rider telling me he was outside the gate with my package. I got it and unbox it but I was not impressed with the phone, it was not giving me the vibe I want and the storage was low so no way I can have a lot of stuff on it but still I was glad that I get to earn some tokens from the task they made available on it.

Barely 2 months after I got it, I got home that day, took the phone to do something on it, and suddenly the screen went blank that I could not see what I was doing on the phone again. I asked my partner what happened to it, and she said she doesn't know that she didn't take the phone. I was so pissed and I contacted their support immediately but no response.

I regret the day I paid for the phone, I was not interested in fixing it because they wanted us to be doing some crazy task before we could qualify for the airdrop, which was not stated before we purchased the phone... 5 months later, my brother visited me and he saw the phone, I told him the screen is damaged, he said I should give him that he would repair the screen and since it was useless to me, I gave him the phone.

He spent like 15,000 Naira to fix it and started using it. 2 months later, Jambo announced that there would be an airdrop for those who purchased the phone, so I called him to bring the phone with a promise to give it back to him after I get the airdrop.

One night, my partner told me she wanted to confess about something, she told me she was the one who spoilt the phone back then, she took it to the kitchen and while she was doing something, the phone fell inside water but she quickly removed and clean it... she could not tell me when I complained about the phone screen because she was scared.

I think she did the right thing by lying that day because if she had told me exactly what happened that day, I would be so mad at her, she told me because the phone had been fixed and I was happy that night too...

So, reading the atmosphere and mood of a person matters a lot, and that lie she told saved her.

Sometimes, a small lie could save you from troubles or dangers. Yeah, it is understandable that lying is not good because you need to keep lying to cover up your lies, so you won't get exposed.
