The powerful, the rich, and the connected enjoy all the benefits, while the poor suffer. This is why many people work so hard to reach the top to be among the few who enjoy the benefits of being rich or powerful.

It may seem like the government makes policies to favor the rich, but that's not exactly the case... The government makes decisions that favor itself, and the rich don't feel the impact because money solves 90% of people's problems.

A good example was when the fuel subsidy was removed in my country. The poor grunted and complained about the hike in fuel prices and the high cost of transportation, but the rich kept living as if it were nothing, because they have what it takes to prevent government decisions from affecting them in any way.

The government taxes us, but it is still the poor who feel the impact the most, because the rich pass the tax back to the poor to pay the government.

A friend of mine showed me a receipt he used to buy something from a mall in his area, and behold, he was taxed twice. He paid VAT and another tax on top of what he bought.

In the end, when the government taxes the rich, the rich end up using the money they get from others to pay their taxes, while their money remains untouched.

Sadly, those of us still struggling will pay the rich and still pay the government. Once again, it looks like the government favors the rich, but that is not it - the rich only played smart and extorted from others.

While the poor blame the government for bad infrastructure, lack of proper hospital facilities, bad roads, and schools, the rich take themselves to private hospitals and schools and are not affected in any way by the actions of the government

The reason peope like Aliko Dangote are favored by the government is that politicians need them during elections and for other interests. They fund their campaigns, and once they gain power, they reward those who supported them. It is more ike trade by barter at the top, stay loyal to me, and I will support you when you need it too

The government and the rich are the players, while the poor citizens are the pawns, which they play anyhow to achieve their goals.

If anyone ever tells you, it is going to get better, just know it is a lie, the only solution is to strive hard to get to the top and that is when you will understand how the game is played, they are heartless and corrupt and not everyone can survive in their midst
