It is human nature to despise what they can't be. Many people hate the government, but the government is a reflection of the citizens.

We blame the politicians for embezzling the citizens' money, but not likely that we will do anything different if we find ourselves in the same position; we are just mad because we do not have the opportunity to get to the position.
If a truck of goods should fall on the road, the citizens of my country would rather loot than help, forgetting the goods belong to someone who is now at a loss because of their act, yet we criticise those above for looting money.
Some citizens will rather steal, kidnap or do any other evil things to get fast money; they forget it is someone's child they harmed and how the parents and siblings would feel, the same people would come out to blame the government.
People will give birth to six children and still blame the government for the hardship in their lives. Why not give birth to the number of children you can take good care of? To cut this short, we are all guilty! We are not different from our leaders, it is just the opportunity we lack!.
Recently, there has been news about bandits kidnapping citizens and demanding huge ransoms. It is spreading like wildfire in all states, which made me wonder if it is still the work of bandits or if some other people are using the name of bandits to commit the same evil.
A couple were kidnapped in their home last month, the kidnappers asked for a ransom of 50 million Naira, and when they could not pay it, both were killed. Based on the storyline, the job could only be done by an insider, someone who knows them well.

If I had the money, power and resources, I would love to protect my community from crime. I will try to stop it, but I know it won't be easy.
Hunger is one of the reasons that can make a good citizen steal. With money, I can easily provide food and a job for everyone in my community, but humans are never satisfied. Once their belly is satisfied, they will start craving something different, which could lead them astray, doing things they ain't supposed to do.
What will happen if those you are trying to protect are the criminals? It is impossible not to have one criminal in a community based on how big it is; it is either a rapist, a thief, or just think of any kind of crime.
The only way to cleanse the community is by being lovely and deadly at the same time, show them love, but also put the fear of what could happen to those who are caught doing bad things in them, so they can know their fate.
Money makes a lot of things possible, and one of them is protecting lives and property. We don't need to wait for the government for everything when we can make it happen.

I think our souls are corrupted and for that reason we are doing crime without any hesitation. And you are right that if we can protect people suffering from hunger, the crime rate may reduce greatly because most of the criminal do crime or that.
!PAKX
With hunger gone, the crime rate will decrease, but can't be eradicated cos of human greed.

As above, so below. I think balancing between love and fear is a great way to keep a community safe. Any wrong commited gets immediately punished and sets as an example for the rest to choose right over wrong.
yea right.
It’s true that many problems in a community come from lack of money and chances. We usually blame the government for everything, but we forget that we also have a part in it.
You re absolutely right, money makes a lot of things possible, and that includes protecting ourselves.
Thanks for sharing.
