One of our super abilities as humans is being able to adapt to any situation we find ourselves in. If we woke up one day to the whole internet shut down permanently, we would miss a lot of things.
No more link up with friends and allies globally: The internet makes it easy and fast to connect with our friends in different countries and those in our country but far from us, within secs our messages are delivered but when internet is gone, that is when we will realize what we will miss because we would lose contact with this beautiful people forever, we don't even have most of their numbers, we just connect through chat and form beautiful bonds... This is only possible with the internet, and we will be forced to go back to the days of darkness and limited knowledge.
It is not just friends, allies and bosses we would lose, the source of income of those of us who are invested and also work online will all be gone, may we never encounter a situation that will take us back to zero, but that is what it will be if such a thing happened especially when we didn't prepare for it by investing offline or having a skill.
If this happens, how will I survive? Do I have a Skill that will save me?
Unfortunately, I have no skill. Immediately after I finished secondary school, I started working. My first job was in a factory, where I worked for six months before quitting and venturing into teaching, which I did for seven years before I discovered web3.
If the Internet stops today, will I suffer? It will be a big blow to my finances, but I trust in God, the birds have no farm, yet He feeds them daily, so I don't think it is the end for me if the internet crashes today.
It is never too late to learn a Skill, and one that I would love to learn is Fashion designing. I love it because it has more to do with creativity and is not as stressful and risky as some others.
I can't imagine myself learning electrician work because I am scared of getting electrocuted.
I would love to be a fashion designer who sews different kinds of clothes like Agbada, suit, and other modern clothes, to learn this would take me 2 years to perfect all, and then I can have my shop and life goes on.
I choose Tailoring because it still allows me to work indoors, or should I say under a roof, but if we should leave that aside, I would go for farming, I love nature, and Farming is the closest thing to that.
I just know I am going to thrive like I always do; the end of one source of income is the beginning of another.
I love this prompt as it is a wake up call for us all, if internet goes down today, what have we set down offline to survive, it could be business or any other thing, just make sure you do not rely on only one source of income, do not put all your eggs in our basket.

I agree with your opinion, with the presence of the internet in our lives, it undoubtedly provides us with motivation to channel all the work we can do. Not only that, but with the existence of the internet, we are able to survive. For me, the internet is very important in our lives today.
it is important! no doubt.
People don't really see the need for an offline skill anymore because presently everything revolves around the internet.
Tailoring is not a bad option, it keeps evolving everyday due to new trending styles.
To be honest though, I won't learn tailoring, I would go into an offline business, trading offline instead.
Everyone has some skills maybe you have some hidden talents and you just need to figure out and polish them.... Fashion designing is good too and it's most demanding nowadays as everyone wants to wear good outfits π

Hidden talents? you may be correct and I kinda agree with you but we are restrained from knowing what exactly we are good at due to lack of opportunity and resources to explore.
But life gives us the opportunity to explore too π

We are humans and we know how to adapt with the situation. If you don't have any skills you will learn for sure which is just a matter of time and to survive we can do anything. So, it's not to late to learn if such a situation comes.
At all, when one way close, then we will make another way where there is none; we must survive.
You dey always talk am openly lol. Like you too, I have no skills, it's a hustle and gragra of "I must make it" lol
Nothing to hide, my manπ, our hustling spirit took us this far xd
Yes, indeed. Makes one ponder a bit more or what their next steps will be if the internet ceases to exist. I personally will also put farming on the top of the list. Apart from the hard work, it's very practical and I obviously won't go hungry too :)
I always have it on my mind, I mean that part of one losing his source of income online, is there anything to fall back to offline, it is always on my mind, and I put some work in progress to be prepared for such in the future... We must never be caught unguarded.
Yes yes. Better to start diversifying income sources, having one eye in both realms, so to speak.
I have no skill as well and this is why I have made some plans on getting an offline business which I will run alongside the things that I do online so that if anything crashes online today, I will still survive
