Technology In Life...

The other day, we talked about the effects of technology on education and we saw the many feats people were able to achieve just because technology played a big role in their lives. But then, it is not only in education that technology is this important, as we all know.

We see its effects and uses in our daily life as well. It is virtually impossible to be alive in this day and time without having to make use of technology at all. No matter how little it is. As the world has evolved, we have gotten to the point where we can no longer do without it and as changes keep on being made, everyone keeps on doubling up so they will be in tune with the trends.

As it is, right from the moment we wake up each day, we have a piece of modern technology that we would have to make use of. And I am not talking about our phones. There are some people who find it hard to sleep on their own. Not that they need drugs or anything, but they find it easier to sleep when there is cool music playing softly in the background, or when they have soft lights on in their bedroom. Only then will they manage to fall asleep.

And speaking of music, what miracle is it that music has not done? Even from time immemorial, during the times of old music was something that was really powerful. And that fact has not changed now. With good music playing in your ears, mundane and routine tasks will suddenly become a lot more fun. When you are jogging, you’ll find yourself doing it in tune with the beat, feeling good about yourself. When you’re performing chores, the same thing. You’ll be dancing around the house, singing at the top of your voice as you do what needs to be done. And then, when you are working…

We literally can’t do without technology. From brushing our teeth to eating, we make use of the most recent technological improvements. Transportation and healthcare are just obvious issues I don’t even want to mention.

So, my dear friends, what am I trying to say here?

The world has really come far from the time of the cavemen. People have always been thinking beyond their peers, looking into the future, and coming up with tools and implements that will change the trajectory of generations to come.

Who knows what else the future has in store for us with regard to technology? Now that artificial intelligence is taking over and we have robots applying for jobs and becoming lawyers, we are going to find ourselves becoming even more dependent on technology. Yeah, more than we currently are.

It could be a time when technology will help us fall asleep and wake up, help us eat, and help us brush our teeth. All we have to do is sit down, be alive and breathing, and most likely grow fat. There will be elements of technology that will take care of all our needs for us.

Somehow, when I think of this future, I am a bit scared just as I am a bit excited. It speaks of a scary world because we would have these inventions taking over everything that is currently giving people employment, and this means that everyone affected will have to go and find something else to do. And as the world is beginning to lean more and more heavily on the digital sphere, it is not difficult to guess that that is where the new focus will be. And a lot of the things we do now will be obsolete.

I have no idea when this future will come, but seeing how huge the world has changed in the last decade, I won’t be surprised if this happens in a couple of years. But still, it’s the future and I’m looking forward to it!

We’ll see what other wonders technology will have in store for us.
