I am of the opinion that science has made people lazy to some extent.
Just this morning I was discussing with my friend who has been on a weight loss journey since January.
When she started, she weighed 113 kg. The last time she checked her weight last month, she weighed 85 kg. That's how much work she has put in. But then her transformation is so shocking that people are now attributing her progress to cosmetic surgery and liposuction.
As offensive as it is to downplay someone's effort in such a manner, I do not really blame them because we live in a world where people would rather seek scientific intervention than put in the effort for natural solutions where it is needed.
And this brings me to the discussion about the Hivelearners prompt on using scientific intervention to combat memory loss. Personally, I would not allow any medical or scientific intervention that will introduce a foreign object into my body, as I am against tampering with the body even if it's for retentive memory or long life and prosperity.
You know it is my belief that the body is such a magnificent creation, which can heal itself with natural remedies and therapy when adequately administered.
In my own experience, I used to be a bad reader. I basically do not even have the patience to read anything, which affected my memory retention capacity.
It was worse in my uni days, as I was what they call la cram la pour. What this meant was that I never understood what was read, as I was just cramming to pass my exams. I used to be among those categories of students that, after the exams, had forgotten all that was read.
Sometimes I get really unfortunate such that any little distraction in the exam hall, my memory becomes empty, and I start having panic attacks because I know I'm on the verge of failing. It is still in these uni days that you hear students engage in all sorts of things for retentive memory.
During these times the religious ones are buying a pen for exams and taking it to churches for prayers and for divine intervention during the exams, which is really funny because the same religious text, the Bible, stated that prayer without work is dead. I would bet on it that if such students get the offer for a microchip implant for retentive memory, they will jump at it.
You know, even a microchip comes with it's Limitations as I'm sure such a device will be constantly due for upgrade which could get inconveniencing.
So back to my experience, I did manage my situation and crammed my way through uni, but then advancing to another educational level and meeting new academic partners, I soon discovered that the secret to retentive memory is reading and constantly learning, as this keeps the brain active.
The hack is, the more active the brain gets, the larger its memory compartment for retention, and what's a better way to jog memories and keep it active than reading and writing? This is where Hive came in for me as one of my life hacks.
You see, this discovery was the game changer. I wish I knew earlier, but then better late than never.
I agree to some point about what you shared.
In the other hand science is trying to make this easy.
Be because of generalize lazy.
The device you used to post is made by science..
From the comfort of your room you can reach places.
Thank you
I never generalized that statement. I said lazy to some extent and I stated the extent. The example you are giving has nothing to do with my opinion stated on this post, that's a different thing entirely.
It a normal phenomenon the fear of not forgetting in exam hall
Bipolar called it a foreign object, and it's the truth. Why alter my memory, which is supposed to work naturally? At the end of the day, I would be greatly affected. Everything in excess kills.
Huhhh sometimes i also forget answers in the exam hall or in front of the teacher and i only need to know the first letter of answer but then i manage with my memory and I'm happy with it 😁

We humans can do so much more than we think, it's just laziness limiting us truly. The chipped brain is definitely a no.
This is similar to how many lecturers think some of us students submit AI generated work even though that's not the case. We work hard only to be told we used Artificial Intelligence. It's disheartening.
También creo que la tecnología está disminuyendo las habilidades humanas, entre ellas la memoria, además la alimentación moderna colabora con la aparición de enfermedades neurodegenerativas... Cuando no se trate de aquellas, el esfuerzo es un camino efectivo.
