Making Of An Art Portrait

Hi Creators of Hivers! It's actually my first time of posting for a creative Sunday. So, handsomely and beautifully sit back while I take you through the process of drawing this beautiful picture portrait.

1000225367.jpg

There's no success story without it's development stages and behind every successful art piece, there are tools that are been used. So below are the list of my tools in making this portrait:

  • Graphite pencils
  • Charcoal pencils
  • Ruler
  • Measuring tape
  • Brush
  • Blending rolls
  • Pencil Pen
  • Tikky eraser
  • Pen eraser
  • And my mental stability, hehe
I mentioned mental stability because to have a good result of any art piece, you must be in a right frame or state of mind.

Moving further, I started my griding on my paper, so as to proceed to the sketching part.

1000178269.jpg

1000180478.jpg

I calmly sketched the picture to be sure there wasn't any mistake and to make some adjustments as requested. Like I do say, sketching is the foundation of every art portrait.

1000180685.jpg

I went further to shading for the first layer like I always do. Not making it black at once would make the blending process easy and not rough.

1000225462.jpg

The second and third layer of the shading also done and this time it becomes more darker, bringing out the curves of the face more, the eye brow space, the eyelids, the nose borders, the lips, neck, than the first layer shade.

1000182789.jpg

1000186030.jpg

I also re-blended the face to make it a bit lighter because in as much as I want it dark because of the whole watery process it will go through at the framing stage, I still don't want it to be too dark.

The picture after shows the details of the face I did, the re-blending, the ear and the little beards/mustache. I also proceeded to the native wear (Though the camera used here has a bit or too much lightening which caused it to be too white)

1000225396.jpg

Over here I had ensured to bring out the details of the top and the hair. Followed is the picture of me during the process.

1000190689.jpg

1000225395.jpg

And here, we have the final stage of the portrait, where I had done the retouching of the whole part of the portrait, adding more details before adding the eye balls and the focus of the eyeballs. Then followed by my signature at a side of the portrait.

1000225367.jpg

So I was quite happy that I was able to finish up with this portrait which was a bit too close to the due date and I could take a selfie picture with the piece.

1000192274.jpg

My radiant smile shows the joy triumphing every challenges of every art piece I do which broadens my mentality about life that even if you pass through a challenge for an attempt of success yesterday, it still doesn't mean you won't face another challenge on another attempt of success tomorrow. The only difference is that you've known better to help in scaling through and conquering any further challenges you face.

I'll be dropping my πŸ–ŠοΈ here on my participation for the Hive Learners Creative Sunday.

Thanks for seeing through to the end πŸ€—

All Images are Mine.
