Go-fundme Fund-forall

I was reading a blog yesterday and it was talking about how people finds it easy now to go to the social media space to seek for assistance especially when it comes to financial aid based on health issues and seriously, they do get it.

Social media space is one good thing that has really happened to people in terms of cases like this, where philanthropist of any level either small or big, get to give a hand of help to people who are dire in need and even a mere citizen who's still capable of showing a heart of kindness could also intervene with the little they have as long as it's willingly coming from them.

I don't know about other places in the world, but in my country, this is one thing I can always vouch that they are very good at in doing. Showing kindness to people in need especially when they are bold enough to come out in public to seek for assistance. It becomes the problem of all and they get to ensure that the problem is solved and the person get treated or get a better life.

The amazing part is that it doesn't have to be about health issues alone for people to actually donate but even with life challenges like shelter, businesses, education and the likes are situations where people do not hesitate to help but the issue kept raising based on being taken for granted.

The good heart of people have now been taken misinterpreted to be for fools that can be received and I remember vividly how a popular influencer trended on X platform for having deceived Nigerians and collected a donation of 13million naira from them on a cancer illness that wasn't real. That was just one out of many that we didn't even get to know the real truth that the cases were not real but deceit and form of defrauding people in the name of donation.

With these very rampant in the society now, it still doesn't justify that they are all liars and defrauders and some either individuals or an organization are still real and really helping people out by getting donations for victims and patients but the real question remains that how transparent are they with these funds?

Sometimes it is not only about the victim getting his or her problem solved or the patient getting treated like you've all seen as the donators but here is how the money came in, the total and how it was spent with receipts as evidences backing it up. Even if there is a leftover fund from the fundraising then I feel like it's still supposed to go to the person of whom the money was raised for.

Unfortunately, most of these platforms are in business and no one would actually want to run in loss so their level of transparency can always be shrieked to some level that will favour them and their brands.

I guess their watchword is that the money may actually be raised for the victims or patients but it can't be spent on them alone since business must survive. It's a Go-fundme but eventually a Fund-forall.
