Forgiveness Sometimes Becomes Another Hurting Experience

'To err is human but to forgive is divine.'

This is a quote that seems to be so sweet and easy to say verbally when things have not for once gone really south and you think forgiveness comes easily just because of some slight offenses that has once occurred and you forgave the offenders.

Forgiveness may carry same name but varies on the weight of what you're forgiving and that's when it can really be judged that someone is forgiving.

I've had some serious situations that I found myself and I thought there was no way I was going to be free from that mess. I call it a mess because in as much as I want to forgive the person of what the person did, the reflection of the person coming to my reasoning, contemplating on forgiving the person even reminds me of the impact of what the person did and it kept on turning to a situation of "instead of been forgiven, more salt is been added to the wound".
That was one of the worst stages I passed through in the history of my life cos It was a hard time to push through with.

And you know, considering the fact that you have to go to God in prayers and the instruction has been laid with no alternative in the scripture that all you just have to do before opening that mouth to God in prayers is for you to make settlement first. I wanted to talk to God cos he was the only major source of my comfort and to restore my happiness but then there is this person who I have to settle with first before seeking divine comfort. Imagine the pain of reasoning that the same person who offended you and caused you pain is still the reason why you can't talk to God.

I won't lie that it took me several weeks despite the emptiness I felt without genuinely communing and all I could ask for was forgiveness, the strength and the spirit to be able to do the needful. He indeed helped me out and I was able to forgive, let go but not to forget. That doesn't mean we are not on good terms till date but the person won't just receive that level of trust they once broke.

Forgiveness is so hard unless God helps one to make it easy when it's on some serious cases that brings hurtfulness to your mind and soul whenever it cross across one's mind but then who are we not to forgive even if we started everything with a bit of drama.
We are also offenders and unless we are not true believers who wants to be close to his or her father then we may count forgiveness to be a rare thing we will give out.

I forgive and when I forgive it is from the dept of my heart. The only clause remains that after the forgiveness, I won't give you the avenue to commit such grave offense again. It is not to reference what the person has done but just like the normal saying that **"prevention is better than cure".

Everyone is worthy of being forgiven as we are all sinners in the flesh to commit offenses, only that some measures of boundaries can be put in place to secure one's mental health.
