I was watching an enlightenment clip this morning, done by a presenter friend talking about "Fake It To Make It" and I begin to wonder how far people can go to living a fake life just to prove what they are not.

People live fake lives up to the extent of renting an apartment in a location where they are not supposed to be based on their financial level and capabilities but because they desire and want to mingle with people of high and great caliber, they want to connect and network with high profile people, then they decide to change the network of their locations to a befitting one. This may work out for some people and the fact that it works doesn't mean it is right.
It is generally acknowledged that things on social media goes the other way round totally and I wouldn't agree with anyone that it keeps happening due to societal peer pressure cos if sheeps likes, they can walk with dogs and still not eat dirts simply because it's not what they eat primarily.
I see some sites been secretly endorsed to buy followers from there for one's page to have more followers in numbers but at the end of it all, each of your posts gets very tiny engagement because your genuine followers are few. So what's the point?

I know most of these social media activities are now about monetization and this is causing most people to seek for fake audiences just to eat out of the cake. Just like a friend sent me a DM on Tiktok to pay a certain amount of money to get to 1,000 followers and then I can be able to go LIVE and streaming to get gifts like other streamers of which I opposed to. The funny part is that without getting to a thousand followers, not even a half of it and I was given access to go LIVE.
Which means that these social media platforms too recognizes hardwork, originality and not just about fake gathering of followers.
Now, let's say that there is a law on ground for all platforms, noting that once a fraudulent act is observed on your account then it gets banned then I'm so sure that there will be limitations to how far people go to commiting these acts.
It's in no way different from a fraud and can as well be charged as a criminal act that is punishable but then, it's a social media platform with freedom where the handlers are free to do whatever they want to ask long as it's not against the platform's policies and the platform owners also have the right to ban and unban every suspicious accounts created except if the act proceed to be one scamming people directly then It can be criminally criminalized (permit me to use that grammar).

Another thing that would help in curbing these fraudulent acts is these social media platforms ensuring that they are not rewarding accounts with fake followers and the likes and only then will people learn not to always look for a shortcut route.
Above all, there is nothing we want to achieve with fake audiences because we will end up getting the fake engagement of hundreds of thousands of views with tens of comments or likes.
Hardwork pays as ever and it is something you can always be proud of no matter the outcome.

I like your conclusion. Hundreds of fake followers can't replace a small group of people who genuinely enjoy and support your content.
