Write it just as is spoken in Igbo language.

When I studied linguistics as one of my major courses, I discovered that some language are very easy to learn while some are very difficult. A very good example is the English language. This language is very difficult to learn because of what we are going to be discussing in this episode 1 of week 242 in #hive learner's community.

HOW EASY DO YOU THINK YOUR LANGUAGE IS TO LEARN?

I don't want to start this with my own language, but I want to consider English language first. One of the reasons why English language is very difficult to learn is the inconsistency between the written word and spoken word in English language. Most times is not what is written that is pronounced. That is why most students fail English language and I have heard some students debating that mathematics is very simple and English language is very difficult. I totally agree with them. But when I was still coming up I thought that mathematics is the most difficult subject in school. Now I know better: let's consider these few examples 👇

  1. Come is pronounced as Kam.
  2. Goat is pronounced is gaut.
  3. Philip is pronounced as Filip. And lots more. But when we come to my own language you can actually learn it within some months if you are a serious student.

IGBO LANGUAGE.
Truly speaking this is the simplest of all the languages I have ever seen or heard. It is true that I came from the eastern part of Nigeria which means that I am an Igbo lady. But the truth is that I didn't grow up in my village. I grew up among the Hausas which made it very difficult for me to speak igno language. So I have been managing my Igbo like that until when I was to go to Nasarawa State College of Education Akwanga and someone advise me to study Igbo language in combination of English language. English was going to be my TLC one. After all said and done I went for the course. It was as a result of that I started learning how to read and write in Igbo language. It was only difficult just the first semester and before moving out of NCE one and going to NCE two I was already reading and writing Igbo language. Guys I came out as the best student in Igbo language and I was given an award for that. It all happened because Igbo language is very simple to learn.

SPEAK AND WRITE

Igbo language is not as complicated as other languages that you will speak one thing and write another thing. No. You will just write it the way you spoke it. Examples.

Church is spelt as Chochi which is the correct spelling. Table is spelt as tabulu which is also correct. House is spelt as - hausu which is also correct. You don't pronounce something and write it in another way. This is what makes Igbo language unique
