Droplets And Scent - PhotoFeed Contest Macro Photography 165

After work today, I headed to church for choir practice. On the way it started raining, so I waited under a shade till it stopped, and I continued. However, the road was flooded, making it almost impassable, and to make it worse, the water was filthy. I couldn't bring myself to step in it.

Fortunately, most houses along that road have raised ledges, which help keep floodwater out of their compound. So I had to climb along the raised ledges, instead until I was out of the flood area. Finally, I made it down to the church, tired and almost wishing I hadn't attended.

Approaching the church, the flowers and trees planted all around the surroundings in a beautiful landscape were looking greener because of the rain. As I got closer, the soothing scent of the orange jasmine greeted me. It was everywhere, and I was hooked. You know that feeling when a scent shifts your mood without permission? That was it.

Rain droplets still clung to the leaves and petals, adding extra freshness to the scent in the air. I reached out, touched one - cold sensation.

Zooming in on the droplets, I took a couple of snapshots, then went ahead for the practice, grateful for the split moment of pleasure!
