Today, I visited a family friend, and like I always do, I took a walk around the compound. Getting to the backyard, I spotted a patch of Morning glories, "Ipomoea mauritiana."
I was stunned to see these wild flowers, with their deep magenta color, sitting there in the middle of nowhere, adding color to the environment. No garden, no planter, just beauty!
Honestly, I haven't seen them around before, so I moved in for a closer look and some shots too Lol.
And that's when I saw it: dead center in the bloom was a moth or butterfly, as it's often called. Wings closed, tucked in like it owned the place. Apparently, it was checking out the nectar to see if it was sweet enough to feed on. Lol.

There was no missing it, so I fired off a few frames. Then, it began to move, and I waited to see what was going to happen next.
A few seconds later, the wings opened, slowly, like curtains. And suddenly the proboscis dropped straight into the flower’s throat, and it began to have a field day - feeding on the nectar. Pollination.
Another shot and more followed.

Honestly, it was lovely to stumble upon the vibrant wild flowers, plus the butterfly on duty. I only went to have a look around the surroundings of the family friend's house, and I came back with snapshots.
We often think that empty land is empty, but it’s not. Beautiful things inhabit there. Sometimes, we miss these beauties because we aren’t just paying attention.
I hope you like the photos.
Do have a fabulous week!

It's really a lovely moment, stumbling on beautiful flowers like that unexpectedly. Magenta is an eye catching colour and it's one of my best colours.
You're right that Magenta is an eye catcher. Nice to hear that you like the color.
