A good friend is one of the best gifts anyone can have in this world, if not the very best, and my reason for saying that isn't far-fetched. A friend would go to different lengths to stand by you through thick and thin, help you out of difficult times, smile with you, and cry with you, basically sharing every moment with you, be it good or bad. They're never tired, and when you have such an individual in your life, you're the luckiest person alive. Such people are a blessing, not in disguise, but one you know and can always count on; we call them a friend. Indeed, I'm lucky to have a few of such individuals in my life, and at every single time, I can't help but thank my star for being blessed with those knights in shining armor.
About this time last week, I received joyous news from a very close friend of mine that his wife had put to bed, and I was thrilled by the good news. In fact, I was so excited that I immediately got a taxi down to the hospital to congratulate my friend and his beloved wife, after which we took time to discuss life and plans for the naming ceremony. It was during our discussions I got to know things aren't as pleasant as they used to be for my friend, and he was kind of worried about how he's going to sail through the challenge ahead, from providing for the new baby to that of the family, not to even talk about the naming ceremony or other life necessities.
To cut the long story short, I had to put his mind at rest. It's not like he's not a responsible person; it's just that some unexpected things came up during the pregnancy that carted away all his savings for the baby and the likes, and so I reached out to some of our other friends to explain the situation to them so they could come through one way or another for him, and before you know it, people started taking up commitment and responsibility for different things that'll not only make the naming ceremony a success but also aid the family during these trying times, and I must say that I'm wowed by how everyone came through for him.
Although wowed, I wasn't really surprised about all we were able to do for the family, because that's how we've all always come through for one another in good and bad times, and these habits have made our relationship evolve beyond mere friends to family you can rely on through thick and thin. Fast forward to today, the naming ceremony went so well that every single guess that came around had a great time and didn't notice any lapse, and our friends can't help but keep thanking us for being a pillar he can rely on. We're all happy to help, not because we want help in return, but because it's the right thing to do.
Overall as humans we must learn to live a life of positive impact towards everyone around us and be a friend indeed.humans need each other to survive, to sail through life challenges and difficulties, and when you have a friend who stays by you, you're the luckiest person alive because they'll do everything within their power to make you smile, so start by showcasing the positive change you desire to have in a friend, not because you want that back in return, but because it's the right thing to do.
