Once we were visiting Manhattan Mall in Medan City, What a surprise my wife asked me to buy a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I was so curious since I have never seen her drinking coffee. But on the day at the mall, she suddenly asked me to buy her a coffee at Starbucks which is located on the first floor of Manhattan Mall.
I walked down to the first floor and headed for Starbucks that is situated beside the main door of the mall. It’s so easy to recognize Starbucks coffee shop just by seeing their logo. I believe every coffee lover know Starbucks logo and most of coffee lovers must have already visited Starbucks at any chain in cities or towns on the earth. I, personally have visited Starbucks in many cities of my country, Indonesia. I have even visited Starbucks in Sydney, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka, Istanbul, Roma.
Okay I would buy her a coffee. But I don’t know what coffee I have to buy for her. I have no idea. But I just thought she won’t drink espresso of black coffee. So, I walked into the coffee shop to read the menu list/book first. No need to hurry up.
The menu book of Starbucks is named Barista Favorites. The menu list is so helpful as we can easily find the coffee or drink we like to order. The information included there is complete with the name of coffee, their look in photos, sizes and prices. I perused the list carefully, and finally I decided to buy a cup of Iced Hazelnut Latte with Almondmilk. I ordered the venti size, which is the biggest one.
Sure there are many other menus of Starbucks. I shot some pictures that showing other cups. No doubt that the Starbucks’ baristas are so skillful and creatively in making the menus.
We can also choose whatever we like to order the drinks written on the blackboard at the bar. It could be Chocolate and Teavana, Frappuccino, Espresso and Brewed Coffee. As I mentioned it before that I should not buy espresso for my wife since it will be very strong coffee for her. I was also worried she will hate coffee when tasting espresso for her first ever cup of coffee!
After ordering Hazelnut Latte, I took a seat to wait for the coffee. While waiting, I enjoyed the environment and sightseeing. The Starbucks of Manhattan Mall is not too spacious.
From my seat, I’ve seen some costumers got in to order their drinks.
We could also buy tumblers if we love to. When I visited Japan in 2019, I’ve seen a friend of mine bought a tumbler at Starbucks in Kyoto, Osaka and Tokyo.
In case we need cakes, we have not to worry as Starbucks sells not only coffee and its blend. We may buy to pick one or two cakes. Some of them are coffee-based.
About ten minutes waiting, Iced Hazelnut Latte with Almondmilk was ready. The barista just called my name to take the coffee. It’s venti in size. The biggest one. I’ve thought that if my wife couldn’t finish it, I would help her to empty the cup.
I paid IDR 78,000 for the coffee. The price is pretty good, it’s about $5. I grabbed the cup and went out to second floor.
Hazelnut Latte is one of plant-based drink on the menu list. The two other plant-based drinks are Green Tea Latte with Soymilk and Coccoa Macchiato with Oatmilk. I was sure I pick a good choice for my wife. And it was a big YES, as she really like Hazelnut Latte!
Hello @razack-pulo
I prefer smaller menus with great options. However, I find that even if Starbucks has an extensive menu, most of their drinks are usually excellent, as well as their meal options.
That Shikara Swirl Danish (which I believe might be a Cinnamon Roll) would have been my choice, with the Hazelnut Latte.
Good choiceđź‘Ť
Hello @millycf1976
When a coffee shop offer great options of drinks, it would attract us to comeback for trying another choice. Srikaya Swirl Danish could be a cinnamon roll, but I am not sure as “Srikaya” is a Bahasa word which means “jam” in English. :)
Thank you for your comment on this post.. :)
You're very welcome. It's great to learn a new word:)))

Starbucks is always a decent spot to get a coffee they're constant and you always know what you're getting. It's a good place for a first cup of coffee I think.
Yeah. That’s a great point, that she got the first cup of coffee on Starbucks. Thank you for your compliment :)
