A month ago, we went to Conti's Restaurant to have a simple celebration of our mother's birthday. We saw that they have coffee selections on their menu, so my sister and I ordered something to help digest our lunch.
Sis paid for the family lunch, so she said "Hey, coffee on you."
But of course, I did not pay. LOL.
When I opened the menu, there really was not something special, I think. I am just always into Americano. I very seldom get lattes or frappes or those sweet coffee.
This time though, I thought it would be good to try sometihng else.
I promised myself I'd never drink spanish latte ever again after I got upset stomach from it. LOL.
My sister wanted to try the Sea Salt Caramel and because I'm a copy-cat, I also got the same. 😁
Hmmm, did they just manipulate my palette? LOL. Of course, coffee and cake really do go well together, so we ordered a couple of slices also for dessert.
It was just the 4th of January and we were fresh off the New Year celebrations. My daughter wanted to have cheesecake for the NYE celebration but our oven was broken, and we could not find a bake shop where to order. We ended up not having a cake. LOL
We ordered the cheesecake and the mango bravo. Hmmm... really sweet. LOL.
We finally finished lunch and coffee came. I asked to put the it in a take-away cup so we can go anytime.
In all fairness, the coffee smelled great. Err, it smelled sweet. I removed the cup cover, anticipating it would be very hot, but it wasn't.
As I opened it, Little Man was quick to notice that there was a "heart" coffee art on the froth. Hmm, that was a pleasant surprise. I did not expect any coffee art since it was a covered take-away cup.
Do you know a spelling trick?
How to correctly spell desert 🏜 and dessert🍨 🍦🍰?!
Dessert as in sweets you eat after a meal is spelled with double S as in so sweet!.
Well this Sea Salt Caramel Coffee does not taste coffee anymore, but sugar. Too sweet for my liking. Sorry! ✌️
I was holding the cup all the time until we reached home. I barely drank any.
While I was not entirely impressed with the coffee, I would like to take a short moment to admire how beautifully decorated their space for coffee.
It was not entirely separated from the rest of the tables of the restaurant. We were actually seated just a couple of feet away from this spot.
Having said that, this is not the spot you'd want to take if you would like a me-time, or an intimate coffee date. This is a space for a lively chit-chat with a group, taking from the whole atmosphere of the restaurant.
Since we did not stay for a long time after lunch, we took off after a sip or two.
Then, since there was no one at these coffee tables, I set my cup down for a quick photo-op. LOL.
I therefore conclude that I am really no longer for sweet coffees anymore. I think I will just stick black coffee next time. Getting old?! Perhaps. LOL.
How about you? What's your preference?
