I don't usually use Bolt because it's a more expensive means of transportation. I would normally prefer a bus or public taxi because it's 10 times cheaper and besides I'm not rushing anywhere. But there have been a few instances where I had to use Bolt. Funny as it may sound, I really use Bolt to the point that last year was the first time I had to use it and it was because it was an emergency. That just speaks of how rare it is to see me using it. Funny enough I have booked a bolt for a lot of people, and even helped a lot of people pay for their ride, of which I still think the prices are insanely ridiculous, but I guess I'm just old school and am still adapting to that genre of technology. I've not just found any reason to or to not use it.
The first time I used it was for a friend's wedding ceremony, I wasn't really familiar with the venue and was going with my team. I checked for the bolt price which I found more convenient for all of us instead of hopping down a taxi at one junction, and entering another one. I felt we were just too nicely dressed to be doing that lol. I guess it's the reason you wouldn't find me using such a transportation system in the first place, I'm often casually dressed, and my position as an ICT personnel for my company kinda exempts me from too much corporate dressing. When I also checked the price it was quite reasonable, only for the driver to ask me how much did I see on the app. I mentioned the amount and he said it's not so, I can't really remember his reasons for inflating the price, but those around me would not just let him do it until he finally agreed.
However, my unforgettable Bolt experience was when I had to book one at about 4:00 am in the morning, first of all there was hardly any driver online, and when I finally found one and booked a ride, the first thing he said was that my fee was 5,000 naira, I wanted to argue, but I was already late for a meeting that started around 2:am knowing there was hardly a driver around, and he was already on the move when he made that statement, I wouldn't want him to angrily drop me off at that ungodly hour of the day. I noticed he went offline immediately after I entered, so the only thing I did was to be very vigilant and make sure he doesn't try anything out of the ordinary. If not that it was dangerous, I would have dropped off, but I guess the driver knew that as well.

I barely use bolt or Uber, public transports are more cheaper than bolt, the only difference is that bolt has more comfort than a public bus, aside from that, public transport is way more economical.
