Keeping The Digital Life In Check

As a busy person who works online, having a certain level of discipline is essential for managing my daily activities. The internet can be a place where you easily lose track of time, so I must plan my day carefully to ensure I complete my tasks before my guilty pleasures take over.

Hello readers! Today, I will share how I manage my digital life while navigating my day. This is #digi-prompts 027.

After waking up on a regular workday (7 am), I start by doing my prayers and washing my face. Then, I turn on my computer and pick up my phone to check my emails. I focus on the important ones, particularly those related to my meetings and finances. I jot down the times and dates of the meetings and then set a schedule on my phone's calendar. It’s quite easy to do! The calendar will remind me of my meetings ahead of time, allowing me to prepare accordingly.

One of the most important parts of setting this reminder and date is the part where my discipline has to come in. There will be messages from my different social media; immediately I click on any of them, I will have to start replying to messages, watching reels, and then get lost in time without getting other things done.

I'm not saying I won't be active on my social media, but now is not the time for it. After I finish my meetings and go through my schedule, I’ll switch to my PC to confirm the tasks I've completed on JIRA to ensure everything is in order. Then, I'll check my Web 3 assets and Social-Fi platforms for any notifications that require my attention. Once I’ve responded to those notifications, I’ll dive straight into my work. This includes writing, editing, and finishing up my tasks, which I typically do until around 11 AM.

At that point, I take a break to shower and prepare my meals. I also catch up on social media, reply to texts, and watch movies or reels. I usually do this until around 12 or 12:30 PM. Before I resume work, I set my phone to work mode to minimize distractions.

When in work mode, I won't be disturbed by calls or notifications from any social app. This will give me the focus to finish up the task I was set on finishing. Most times, on my lucky days, I would finish my work before 3 pm or 4 pm.

When I finish my work for the day, I have the rest of the day to myself, so I try to finish engaging on a web-based platform like Hive, check my socials, make calls, and video call. Try to chat with friends as I prepare to round up for the day.

I do this every day; I don't flow with the day or just with the flow. I will make a lot of errors if I do this, and I won't be able to finish my task for the day.

Your plans are very legit because it mirrors mine. If I don't stick to my schedule, then I end up spending time and data on reels on #Youtube.
