An apple a day…

I was never a fan of iPhones way back in university because of the whole transferring of files from phone to laptop stress and vice versa. I began using an iPhone in level 200 but after realizing the stress I had to go through to send my pdfs and files, I put it somewhere to use my infinix until something happened.

One of my colleagues couldn’t pay all his school fees before reporting that semester. And according to him, his dad was going to send him money to pay the rest but the money never came through. I think something happened at home which caused certain financial issues or so. I was very worried about the whole issue but he looked very chill and unbothered like he had a backup plan.

About two weeks to exams, he still wasn’t hearing anything from his dad so he sold his iPhone X to pay the rest of his school fees and that was how he was able to register for exams. That time, I had gone back to using an android, infinix to be precise as I said earlier and with how slow it was, I had to open instagram an hour before the actual time I wanted to use it. I’m not even exaggerating.

I jokingly asked if I could also sell my phone for a reasonable amount. They told me yes but for for chicken change or even nothing. On top of that, my colleagues laughed at me. Since then, I thought so hard about it and started wondering other benefits my phone could offer apart from all the pressing. After not getting any, I decided I was going to use something that could save me someday. And that was the beginning of my iPhone journey.

Funny enough, sometimes I just sell my phone and use the same money to buy another one because the money I get is always almost similar to the cost price but for android? Hmm. Sometimes, the phone dealers can even tell you to dash your android because it has no value after being used for some time and if you’re not lucky, they’ll say throw it away.

I could talk about the speed, the camera quality and so many other things on iPhones but the main thing that has made me stick to it all this while is its lowkey investment value. If I can sell my phone tomorrow when faced with financial crisis then please allow me to keep sticking to it.

If I’m really being honest,I like androids but that particular android I would like to use isn’t one I can afford for now(something around 40,000 Ghana cedis). And the android I can afford can’t be an investment in anyway. So until then, iPhone and I will continue being like 5 and 6.

The iPhone is over hyped, to be honest, Android is way better than it... I have both an android and iPhone and I can tell you I use my android more, I only use the iPhone to make and receive calls and also watch films, most things on iPhone you have to pay for it unlike android that there is a loop, my next phone would be android and this time around I am going for Samsung, I have never used a Samsung product so I want to try it for the first time... Meanwhile, you are right about the iPhone retaining value, you can easily upgrade your iPhone by swapping the old one with a little amount added to it and get an upgraded version... so i thnk this is another reason why most prefer iphone.

Yeah that’s true and that’s exactly why I would choose an iphone till I can afford that particular type of android I want.

i can relate with your point: iPhone is not just a luxury but an asset and it's due to the prestige people attached to it and also the brand name. I would say it is not better than android as these dyas there are powerful android brands that are even expensive and better than iPhone like several Samsung, Huawei brands we have in the market today. They maintain their value and price after years and like the iphone you can always resell to gain back a good amount of money but then choice of phone all depends on us and what we love.

Yeah that’s true and like I said, the android I want is way more expensive than any iPhone I know. The problem with such androids is that it has very low demand in Ghana so selling it here later will be a problem.

😂 You have a love-hate relationship with iPhone. You can actually use Microsoft edge for the file transfers. That's what I use to send and receive stuff from my iPhone to my system and vice-versa. Although, you'll have to use data for the sending and receiving processes and I'm not sure you can send heavy files like movies.

Or better still, you can send stuff to yourself (your number) on WhatsApp, then login to your WhatsApp through your system and then download the file, that works too but not for heavy files.

I even use the email or iCloud method actually.

But just imagine, all that stress.

You're so right about the resale value of iPhones. I give it up to them. But I stand with androids. For battery, speed, camera(photography), and overall performance, they show working.
