CHANGE BEGINS WITH YOU

Good day my fellow hiveian,

I got an experience yesterday and I will like to share with us,

I was on my way to school, I have a morning class and definitely I have to attend and you know a lot of students like me would also rush to school! but on my way, I met a colleague of mine who told me the class was cancelled.

We were all angry at the lecturer and the course representative for making us wake so early to enable me rush to school in other to be at the lecture hall early enough.

Subsequently, We all got to know that all lecture for the day has cancelled! Hence, that info got to reduce the tension as no one would love to go to their hostels and come back when there is another lecture!```

But something happened on our way back to our various hostels,
Hmmm!
A lady who is also a student was discussing with her friends,
The lady had four (4) carryover's in a semester, her friend's were trying to pin point some reasons that might have caused her the carry over's.
The lady became adamant and insisted that her plight was caused by the lecturer and the school Computer's Department.

The lady said the lecturer didn't evaluate her script well or the school ICT made a mistake while uploading her results but her friends reminded her of a day an exam was written by them and she didn't get to write in the exam hall because she didn't prepare thoroughly.

This are people whom they were together throughout the exams and noticed what actually could cause her failure but this lady remained so adamant that she is not to be blamed.

The lady action made me to remember what one of my lecturer's taught me in class.

Her act depict an ego defence mechanism (its a means of an individual coping skills).
The only way the lady in question thinks she can cope or avoid the banters with the situation is to assign the blame to the lecturer, even when she knows she might be at fault also.

An individual with this defense mechanism will always have someone or something to blame as an excuse for any circumstances or challenges they are going through at any particular time.

A child who is born without a silver spoon blame his or her parents for whatever circumstance he or she may find themselves,

He or she may say if my parents were rich I won't have gone into illegal work to transform the family whereas another child of this category is striving diligently in whatever he or she does, even when it hasn't yield the results the personality may want.

We are in a world where we blame the officials for everything but what about us? are we not also culpable for what we are blaming them for?

What are you doing? What am I doing to make a change in my own little way?

We keep criticizing each other means while we may be the one at fault.

Children now blame their parents

Sisters now blame their brothers

Friend blame their friends

Members blame their religious Leader's

Citizen's blames the government.....

But what are we doing to cause a change?

You might be a victim of this, you always find someone, something to attach to every of your challenge or weakness or the circumstances that evolve you.

It high time we got our pieces together and face the reality of things and stop apportioning blames!

The blame won't change anything.

I'm sure the lady I talked about will not meet the lecturers in question because her reaction shows she is not confident and certain of herself.

Our case might be different from this lady but are we not doing the same,in our family,at work,in school, among our peers.
Will you be satisfied after all the criticisms?
Is this how best you can cope with situations?
Is it causing change that you desire?

It a question we should answer and make adjustments.
Let identify what that problem is, how we have contributed to it and make amends...

It doesn't matter if others are not ready to change.
Let it start from you.

Your transformation can change others.

I hope you've learn something as I did because I'm guilty of this too!
REMEMBER, THE CHANGE BEGINS WITH YOU!

Thanks for reading.
