Leaves in the snow

Hello, friends!
Dear @friendlymoose has announced the theme of this week's photo contest: LEAVES.
Nature, a brilliant design engineer, created plants and gave them a unique organ - the leaf. With the help of leaves, the plant breathes, feeds (at the same time releasing oxygen into the surrounding space) and sweats - evaporates excess moisture.
In a temperate climate, on the eve of winter, the leaves on the trees gradually die, giving us the opportunity to enjoy the “golden autumn”, and fall off, allowing the trees to sleep until spring.

But sometimes, and this happens especially often here in Siberia, a disruption occurs in the usual process; snow falls before the trees shed their leaves and prepare for winter.

Usually it happens like this: evening September rain gradually turns into sleet at night. Tree branches, under the weight of snow adhering to the leaves, bend and break, that is, it is the unfallen leaves that cause broken trees. In the morning, the city boulevards resemble scenes from a movie about a sudden ice age.

Of course, the September snow will quickly melt, city services will promptly remove broken tree branches, gardeners will collect late varieties of pears and apples, and autumn will continue to paint trees and shrubs in golden and crimson colors.

But this snow serves as a reminder to people that people are still powerless against the vagaries of nature.
