LLSWS

With both of my oldest nieces being at the college level now, it's kind of hard to believe that they were ever this small. I want to say it seems like just yesterday they were playing at this level, but honestly, it feels like an eternity ago. Okay, at least a decade I guess.

One of the things that my father in law loves about Summer is the Little League World Series that takes place every year. It never fails when I see him he wants to talk about this game or that game he watched. To be fair, I don't usually watch a lot of the LLWS, it's usually on when I am at work and I typically have other stuff going on. I'm always happy to listen to him recap specific games for me.

Well, that all might change a bit this year as the sport of softball is finally getting a bit more attention that it has in the past and they are actually giving the Little League Softball World Series some attention this year. I was watching with great interest the other day as 12U teams were battling it out to make their way into bracket play.

Although the bracket is currently set, I think we are still waiting to see what teams are going to be filling the slots that have opened up.

Bracket play starts on 8/3/2025 with North Carolina facing off against Latin American and the Northwest division seed going head to head with the Southeast division seed. The 3rd of August is also gives us New England facing Mid-Atlantic, and Canada facing Europe/Africa. Then on the fourth we have some spots that haven't gotten filled yet.

I do find it kind of interesting that North Carolina pretty much has their own division, but if you have been reading my stuff for any amount of time now, you know that a lot of really good talent usually comes from the southern states when it comes to softball.

It actually looks like I might need to add ESPN+ to my HULU plan so I can watch the games. I'll have to check and see what the damage is first. I think we need it to be able to watch my nieces games at Radford, so there is a good chance we will be subscribing to it anyway.

Whether I can watch the games live or not, I am really looking forward to seeing what the outcome is and whether or not the US can stay ahead of the international teams. In the baseball version of this series, the countries outside the US usually give us a pretty good run for our money. I'm curious to see if it will be the same with softball.

Either way, you know I will be sharing the details with you here. Be sure to check back!
