(EN/DE) More than an animal park - 250 € for "Arche Wader"

Der etwas andere Tierpark
Durch unsere Reisen in den Norden Deutschlands sind wir vor Jahren bereits auf die Arche Wader gestoßen.
Dieser Tierpark hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht alte und selten gewordenen Nutztierrassen zu erhalten und so einen Beitrag zur Biodiversität zu schaffen.
Während auf Bauernhöfen immer mehr auf die Nutztierrasen mit der meisten Milch, dem meisten Fleisch, eben dem ökonomisch sinnvollsten Tier umgestellt wird, haben hier auch Rassen ein Zuhause, die eben einen nicht so großen "Nutzen" haben.
Der Park selbst ist sehr weitläufig hauptsächlich mit Weideflächen für die Tiere. Vereinzelt gibt es Stallungen. Aber es sind auch Bienenkörbe und ein kleines Museum zu finden.
Fast jeden Tag gibt es ein Event, bei dem man mit den Tieren, oder den Pflegern interagieren kann.
Wenn ihr also nach Schleswig Holstein kommt, plant einen Tagesausflug nach Warder ein. Der Besuch lohnt sich für Familien mit und ohne Kinder.

The zoo with a difference
We came across the Wader Ark years ago during our travels to the north of Germany.
This animal park has set itself the task of preserving old and rare livestock breeds and thus contributing to biodiversity.
While farms are increasingly switching to livestock breeds with the most milk, the most meat and the most economically viable animals, the park is also home to breeds that are not as "useful".
The park itself is very extensive, mainly with grazing areas for the animals. There are a few stables. But there are also beehives and a small museum.
Almost every day there is an event where you can interact with the animals or the keepers.
So if you come to Schleswig Holstein, plan a day trip to Warder. The visit is worthwhile for families with and without children.
