The High Cost of Pride

Pride is a very terrible and bad habit some people possess, and as commonly said pride goes before destruction, however despite this obvious saying, many still let pride into their heart to rule their thoughts, words and actions, in doing some they often go on to become arrogant and boastful. Through the years I've come across different people, some of whom are the typical proud type I'm talking about, and sometimes these acts don't always end well for them, and that's why today I'd love to talk about pride, what makes it up and its dangers.

As a Christian, according to the Bible, pride is the very first sin committed in the Bible, as seen by the case of the devil, who had some kind of ambition that seemed lustful, and these led to his downfall. It's not like it's a sin to have ambition or crave a better life, but then we must be ready to put in the work, understand different stages of life and not have unreasonable or unrealistic ones. I remember how a colleague of mine was so full of himself due to his pride in himself, that he began to say he's better off than our superiors and he didn't just say it to me, he went on to say it to the face of many senior offices and these lead to a stall in his elevation at our office because those he was boastful to, although know he might be smart technologically felt their years of experience is been tranpule upon via is numerous outburst.

On other occasions, I remember going to event, a Reunion to be precise and during the caughting up with other friends , one very outspoken class mate from school days, began to talk about himself, how well he's doing, how he earns in millions and drove a very big car but then after the event, and everyone was going home, he claims to have pack his car long distance away from the event hall and had to walk down to the place, however through his boastful words, a lot of people want to get his contact, see him off, and that lead to them following him, but on getting to the car he claims was his, he didn't enter he didn't enter it for minutes and surprisingly someone later enters the car and drove it away., thereby putting him to shame.

Pride is never a good habit, and that's why people must desist from it. Many of those who are proud of themselves are often exactly beyond where they actually are. These can even deprived them opportunities to get help from people that are capable of elevating them, and that's why today I'll advising people to change their lifestyle and habits, to learn to be humble and not be full of pride that mostly only lead to destruction, shame and the likes.
