A Simple and Cozy Meal with Nice Food Options

Greetings to all, today I am a little busier than usual in view of work review with my management so I will just do a quick post.

Simple Meal
I guess many of us while being busy and all, would love to have a nice meal with our loves ones. With many choices in my neighbourhood, I am feeling really blessed. Sometimes we want to eat in posh restaurants but worry that it will cost us a bomb and sometimes we eat at places where there is no air conditioned but didn't like the feeling of eating there because it is warm and we end up sweating a lot.

So I am back again at Tenderbest Macik Tuckshop over the weekend to have a nice meal with my wife. I have featured this place before I like that it is equally affordable, well air-conditioned and the food there is above average.

Tucked in the cozy corner of an industrial building, this has been a place that me and my wife frequent. Address details below.

In the cover photo is what we've ordered. Looks sumptuous isn't it? And the most amazing thing is that it does make a hole in your wallet. This is a place that serves great chicken chop/cutlet related items and you will not go wrong ordering that.

However, my wife and I wanted to try something a little different within their menu so we ordered something else to verify if the other items are just as good.

First item that is not the usual stuff is this Laksa Seafood Pasta. Laksa is a local food that many love to eat it as the form itself with thick rice noodles, eggs, cockles and toufu puff. However, the chef carefully curated this dish and made a fusion with prawns and seafood. Taste wise, it blew my mind because it had that Laksa kick in terms of the spice and some elements of Carbonara mixed together for a savoury bowl of goodness. The prawns were really fresh, bouncy and fused with sauce. Good job on this nice fusion dish.

Next is this grilled fish which my wife ordered. It is a common dish sold at many places and we wanted to know if this place can do their fish as good as their chicken. And to our delight it is nicely grilled, lightly charred and juices are well locked in the fillet. The garlic bread look simple but it is well coated with the garlic sauce which it is toasted in and taste really good. Fries had a nice crisp with a small stash of coleslaw. Simple yet nicely done.

Was hungry that day, so that Laksa Seafood Pasta was not enough to fill me and I ordered a bowl of mushroom soup as well. Again a simple soup that is filled with mushroom goodness as one can taste the mushroom chunks within the soup. Most important is that the soup consistency is good, it is not overly chunky due to excessive use of starch but had a nice and smooth texture with sufficient bite.

Last but definitely not the least is the country styled fried mushroom that is generously drenched in cheese and sauce. This is really the favourite food that my wife and I always order whenever we visit this place. It is really nice, big and puffy portabello mushroom that is nicely coated and fried to perfection. If you come here and do not know what to eat, on top of their usual signatures, this is something that I highly recommend.

Closing
All in all, this is a really nice place that brings us back often. Key is that it is simple food within a cozy environment to dine in and for the quality of food served, it is at heartland prices. These are factors that bring people back again and again which I am thankful that we have one here in my neighbourhood. Will definitely come back for more and check out their other items on the menu.
