We've reached the end of the month once again, and I'm happy to once again be able to complete the Power Up Month (PUM) challenge, which involves performing one Power Up (PU) per day or making a post with your payment being 100% Hive Power. I've been doing this since month 4, and in this first month, I've made many high PUs, with values between 5 and 10 hives per day. After that, I scaled it back and kept it at 2 Hives per day, so we have around 180 HP just from Power Ups, a good number to grow the account!
So, today I'd like to know, how's your HP? Have you been focusing on increasing it in any way? A while ago, I changed my mindset and focused on keeping almost all of my HP to myself, so I could vote with more power on my community friends' posts and on SNAPS, and honestly, I think it was the best thing I've done lately. I'm happy to be able to help other people grow, so even if it's just pennies, it still helps a lot in getting more HP.
My biggest advice is to always keep some effective HP with you. I'm quite generous in this idea, and I think the fairest thing would be to keep a total of 50% of everything you have with you, then delegate the other 50% to help someone or a project. I personally feel sad when I see someone with 1,000 HP, for example, who has delegated 900. Heck, maybe you have close friends who want your help growing, so why not do that? As an active participant in a community focused on nationality (Brazilians), I see no other way to help other than this.
It's that old story: you ask yourself: why should I maintain my HP to the point of having 1 cent of votes? Well, if 10 people are voting with the power of $0.01 cents, we already have $0.10 to add to people's posts. And as mentioned, my main community is nationality-based, so we're the first point of help and support for newcomers. Having members with considerable voting power is something I see as super beneficial for everyone. This can inspire and encourage newcomers and show veterans that it's possible to maintain a balance between profiting and helping your community.
So, how's your Hive Power?

Firstly, congratulations on getting another #HivePUM badge! As I'm trying to collect them too, I know how hard it can be to be consistent and to power up every day, even if they are small...
Regarding HivePower, it's a strange thing that we have here... When you say "I keep my HP for myself," it can sound selfish, but it is the most generous thing you can do! Supporting people with your own HP and your upvote is a crucial thing on HIVE, which helps in a better distribution of future tokens! If everyone would to the same as you, this place would be much better and we would have more equally rewarded posts in the feed...
Also, supporting others with your HP helps you grow on the platform as those who appreciate that will follow back and support your work too... Sharing is caring! 🙂
It could sound weird hearing that from me, supporting this post with a curation project account, but I would rather see most of HP stored in users' accounts than delegated to a centralized curation project, or auto-upvoting services...
Good luck for August's #HivePUM!

I'm eternally grateful for these words, you summed up my feeling well. Some time ago I was delegating more than 70% of my HP so, then I started to think, why not leave most of it to me and thus vote and support my friends here?
I've been doing everything I can to help the Brazilian community that is HiveBR, we're still few Brazilians so I really like to support those who are making an effort every day to try to create content and participate in some way on Hive! I'm sure that this example and thought will grow more and more and more people will have your HP on their profiles!
Let's work for it, shall we? A big hug and thanks for your support!
Vamos seguir fortalecendo a Hive
